The pipe diameter is enlarged by moving the implement 10 to the right part with the cylinder 13 and fixed to the piece 7 and journal 8. The hollow parts is taken off with its knocking out by ascending a pin 16 by ascending the holder 3.

    • PURPOSE:To locate the phase of a cam easily and with good accuracy and to obtain a strong combination by reducing the expansion of a pipe by fitting the unevenness in triangular tooth serration shape of the cam to the triangular tooth serration shaped unevenness of a steel made pipe and by expanding the steel pipe. CONSTITUTION:The unevenness 4 of triangular tooth serration shape is formed in parallel to the longitudinal direction of the whole periphery of the outer peripheral face of a steel made pipe 1 and the triangular tooth serration shaped unevenness 5 which is fitted to the unevenness 4 of the pipe 1 is formed on the inner peripheral face of the cam 2 consisting of wear resistant material. The shape of the unevenness 5 of the cam 2 is formed lower in its triangular tooth and larger in its angle than the shape of the unevenness 4 of the pipe 1..The cam 2 is strongly combined to the pipe 1 by expanding the pipe 1 by fitting the unevenness 5 of the cam 2 to the unevenness 4 of the pipe 1 corresponding to the phase position of the cam 2.

    • PURPOSE:To obtain a piston ring with excellent abrasion resistance and scuff resistance by using a steel material with the specific composition for a base material and forming a hardened layer via nitriding on the outer periphery sliding face. CONSTITUTION:A piston ring is made of 0.4-1.0 wt.% C, 3.0-10.0 wt.% Cr, 3.0-10.0 wt.% Mo, 1.0-2.5 wt.% V, 1.0-3.0 wt.% W, 2.0-10.0 wt.% Co and the remainder of Fe and inevitable impurities. Nitriding is applied at least on the outer periphery sliding face of this base material to form a hard film layer. Among the added elements, C is solid-solved in a substrate to increase the hardness and bound with Cr, Mo, V and W to form a hard carbide. Co forms no carbide and does not contribute in improving abrasion resistance, but it is solid-solved in the substrate and improves temper hardness and red heat hardness. As clearly shown in the test results of a test piece A thus manufactured, the piston ring with excellent abrasion resistance and scuff resistance and rarely abrading a mating material is obtained in this method.
