    • PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a simple liner that can be installed easily by eliminating the need for uneven shaping. SOLUTION: A liner 30 is provided with a crown piece 30a that is installed at the crown part of an excavation surface, a pair of side pieces 30b that is arranged at both the side surface sides of the excavation surface, and a diameter-expansion maintenance member. The area between the piece 30a and each piece 30b is in a hinge connection including a pin 30d. When the liner 30 is to be installed, it is carried to the rear end side of a TBM while it is folded. Then, the piece 30a is pressed to the crown part of the excavation surface, and at the same time the piece 30b is pressed to both the sides of the excavation surface. When the piece 30a and the piece 30b have been pressed to the excavation surface, the diameter-expansion maintenance member is installed so that the lower end sides of the side piece 30b can be connected, and both the ends are fixed to the excavation surface.

    • PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To easily construct timbering made of shotcrete and the like, while preventing the collapse of the natural ground near a top end behind the rear hull part of a tunnel boring machine. SOLUTION: This tunnel boring machine 10 includes a front hull part 12 having at its end a cutter head 11 for drilling a working face, a rear hull part 13 slidably joined with the front hull part 12, and a thrust jack provided between the front hull part 12 and the rear hull part 13 to slide them for expansion and contraction, and is designed to perform tunnel boring work while using grippers 18, 19 pressing the natural ground around its outer periphery to obtain reactions during expansion and contraction. In this case, an operating tail part 50 which projects backward by sliding back and forth along the outer periphery of the rear hull part 13 is provided on at least the upwardly arched part of the rear end of the tunnel boring machine 10, and timbering made of shotcrete or the like is constructed as the operating tail part 50 is moved back and forth.

SOLUTION: Excavated slime B is introduced into a decompression container 64 inside a slime processing device 62 through a connection pipe 74. In the process of this introduction, defoaming agent H is injected mixedly from an injection nozzle 94 installed immediately before the decompression container 64 into the excavated slime B. The defoaming agent H is injected mixedly to the excavated slime B, air bubbles contained in the excavated slime B are eliminated by the chemical action of the defoaming agent H. The air bubbles in contact with the defoaming agent H are eliminated and formed into water (liquid), and the excavated slime B containing residual air bubbles, sludge, and defoaming agent H enters into a first defoaming chamber 78 inside the decompression container 64. Because the inside of the decompression container 64 is decompressed to negative pressure, a pressure difference between the inside and outside of air bubble film becomes large and air bubble film is physically ruptured, and then the air bubbles contained in the decompression container 64 is eliminated earlier.
