摘要： In a display panel having no black matrix in a picture-frame region, occurrence of flicker in the picture-frame region is suppressed. On a substrate constituting a liquid crystal panel, a peripheral electrode is formed in such a way as to cover at least a part of an electrical wiring line arranged in a picture-frame region facing a counter electrode with a liquid crystal layer therebetween. Also, a voltage generating circuit for providing a predetermined potential to the peripheral electrode is provided in the liquid crystal panel. A control signal, which is a binary signal, is provided to the voltage generating circuit from an external source. The voltage generating circuit provides a potential having a predetermined potential difference from a potential provided to the counter electrode, or a potential equal to the potential provided to the counter electrode, to the peripheral electrode according to a value of the control signal.

摘要： In a liquid crystal display device, an in-phase signal or a reversed phase signal of a signal supplied to a counter electrode is supplied to a source bus line during a video signal unwritten period, where (i) a video signal written period represents a period during which a voltage is applied to a pixel electrode in accordance with a video signal to be supplied to the source bus line and (ii) the video signal unwritten period represents a period between end of the data written period and start of a next data written period. This allows an electronic potential difference between the source bus line and the counter electrode to be kept constant. It is therefore possible to attain a liquid crystal display device excellent in its display quality by preventing flickers from being generated between a source bus line and a counter electrode.

摘要： In one embodiment of the present invention, a NAND circuit, an inverter, a plurality of transistors serve as stopping devices for stopping operation of a circuit in a manner responsive to a level of an initializing signal that is fed. If the initializing signal that is Low-level is fed into the NAND circuit, then a plurality of transistors all become OFF. This makes it possible to reduce steady current flowing across a voltage and a start signal. Steady current flowing across the voltage and a start inverted signal is also reduced. Thus, the steady current flowing through the level shifter is reduced reliably, regardless of the way of use, when necessary.

摘要： An air conditioning apparatus and a refrigerant quantity determination method are provided, whereby a refrigerant quantity can be determined in a simple and accurate manner without compromising the reliability of a compressor. A refrigerant circuit (10) has a compressor (21), an outdoor heat exchanger (23) that functions as a condenser, an indoor expansion valve (41, 51), an indoor heat exchanger (42, 52) that functions as an evaporator, an indoor unit interconnection pipe (4b, 5b), a liquid refrigerant connection pipe (6), a gas refrigerant connection pipe (7), and an outdoor unit interconnection pipe (8). A controller (9) performs liquefaction control for liquefying refrigerant and placing the refrigerant in a portion extending from the indoor expansion valve (41, 51) to the outdoor heat exchanger (23). The controller (9) directly or indirectly regulates the flow rate of refrigerant flowing through a liquid bypass circuit (70) from a liquid reserving portion (Q) toward the gas refrigerant connection pipe (7). A liquid level detection sensor (39) detects at least one of either a volume of liquid refrigerant in the portion where liquid refrigerant accumulates and a physical quantity equivalent to the volume.
