    • PURPOSE:To measure the twist angle of a cable strand, on the basis of the sensor signal obtained by rotating the gap sensor, which is provided to a twisted cable in the axial direction thereof, in the circumferential direction of the cable, and the shift quantity of the cable strand in the circumferential direction from a quantity-of-rotation sensor. CONSTITUTION:When gap sensors 2A, 2B arranged outside a cable 1 having a long pitch in parallel to the axial direction thereof are rotated, an uneven gap waveform is obtained corresponding to the shape of the strand 3 of the surface of the cable 1 and the signal U corresponding to the quantity of rotation is obtained from a quantity-of-rotation sensor (not shown) and these data are used to calculate the shift quantity DELTAL of the same strand in the circumferential direction thereof from the quantity of the rotation at the peak point when the sensor 2A crosses the same strand and that of the peak point when the other sensor 2B crosses. Then, from the relation with the interval L between the sensors 2A, 2B, the twist angle of the strand 3 can be easily calculated.

    • PURPOSE:To detect a relatively large cavity detect in the inner part of a casting part in a socket in a simple manner by comparing an echo pattern of a reflected wave, obtaining a flow frequency supersonic wave after being incident in the axial core direction from the outside, with a reference echo pattern under the specified flaw detection sensitivity. CONSTITUTION:Using a reference sample 10 being manufactured with the same material as casting metal of an inspection subject and having an artificial flaw in a specified position, a timing axis is adjusted so as to cause an echo being reflected out of a notch 11 in the specified depth D1 to be adjusted to a proper position from oscillation on a faceplate of a cathode-ray tube 7, and depth from a surface of the reference sample 10 is made so as to be read out of the timing axis. A decay curve of echo height in this reflected wave is set down to a reference waveform for casting part inspection. Next, a supersonic flaw probe 5 is made contact toward a shaft center of a socket casting part 1, and a waveform to be obtained by this contact is compared with the reference waveform and thereby the presence of a defect and its position are measured. In this case, if there is a relatively large cavity defect in a supersonic propagation path, supersonic propagation is hindered so that the reflected wave out of the front is suddenly attenuated from the defect position.

    • PURPOSE:To obtain the subject cable useful for suspension bridges, etc., without impairing beautiful appearance for a long period by closely adhering and fixing a colored thermoplastic resin sheet, colored to an optional color and having high weather resistance to a cable without using an adhesive. CONSTITUTION:The objective cable obtained by superposing both selvages 11 of a beltlike colored thermoplastic resin sheet 10, colored to an optional color and having high weather resistance, joining the colored resin sheet 10 to the outer periphery of a cable 1 suspended in the air, thermally shrinking the sheet, closely adhering and covering the cable. Furthermore, the aforementioned sheet 10 has no adhesive and the starting end 13 and the back end 14 of the above-mentioned sheet 10 are preferably tightened and fixed by thermal shrinkage of ring anti-slip materials 16 manufactured from a material similar to that of the aforementioned sheet 10.
