    • PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a combined piston ring provided with a resin ring pressing an outside ring, which excellently holds sealing property at the time of a high temperature without causing seizure and friction excess, and maintains engine performance.
      SOLUTION: This piston ring 4 is constituted of the outside ring 5 sliding with an inner peripheral surface 2a of a cylinder 2, and an inside ring 6 pressing the outside ring 5 outward in the radial direction. The inside ring 6 is the resin ring having tension raised by thermal expansion in an abutment state of joints, and is made of a resin material in which resin has an inflection point to rapidly drop an elastic modulus of the material at a certain fixed temperature. An intermediate ring is put between the outside ring 5 and the inside ring 6. The inside ring 6 is the resin ring having tension raised by thermal expansion in the abutment state of the joints, and is made of the resin material in which resin has the substantially constant elastic modulus according to a temperature. The intermediate ring may be made of the resin material having the inflection point for rapidly dropping the elastic modulus of the material at the certain fixed temperature or the resin material for lowering the elastic modulus due to a temperature rise.

    • PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a piston for reducing blowby gas while increase in oil consumption is prevented. SOLUTION: On an outer peripheral face of the piston 1, a first compression ring 10 with an abutment clearance 11, a second compression ring 20 with an abutment clearance 21, an oil ring 30, a variable tension piston ring 40 with an abutment clearance 41 are mounted in this order from a piston crown side at predetermined intervals. The oil ring 30 is mounted to a bottom part of an oil ring groove 6, and an oil return hole 8 connecting the bottom part with an inner face of the piston 1 is formed in the bottom part. The variable tension piston ring 40 is a plate-like ring made from resin and having a rectangular section, and closes the abutment clearance 41 in a temperature area of a predetermined temperature or more, and increases tensile force according to increase in temperature.
