摘要： There is provided a contrast medium composition comprising a physiologically tolerable manganese compound, an uptake promoter and a physiologically tolerable carrier or excipient, having a manganese concentration of at least 0.3mM or being in a dosage unit form containing at least 300 νmol manganese, wherein the uptake promoter comprises a physiologically tolerable reducing compound containing an α-hydroxy ketone group, a physiologically tolerable acid containing α- and/or β-hydroxy or amino groups, or a salt thereof, and/or vitamin D. Such compositions are particularly suitable for imaging of the liver.

摘要： The present invention provides a method of contrast enhanced magnetic resonance imaging of a sample, said method comprising: a) administering a hyperpolarised MR contrast agent comprising non-zero nuclear spin nuclei into said sample for fluid dynamic investigations of the vasculature, b) exposing said sample or part of the sample to radiation of a frequency selected to excite nuclear spin transitions in said non-zero nuclear spin nuclei, c) detecting MR signals from said sample using any suitable manipulation method including pulse sequences. The invention also provides novel compounds.

摘要： A method of and an apparatus for the determination of the electron density of small volumes of a body. Two narrow beams of ionizing radiation of substantially equal intensity are subsequently directed through the small volume in two different directions. The intensity of the transmitted radiation as well as the scattered radiation along said two directions is measured extra-corporally, which measurements are employed in computing the electron density of the small volume. The employed radiation is of such high energy that the Compton effect will be the wholly dominant absorption phenomenon in the volume as well as in the radiation paths in the two mentioned directions, and that the change in the absorption cross-section from primary to secondary radiation caused by the Compton shift will be substantial.
