摘要： An optical transmission system is provided in which the optimum operating point of a Mach-Zehnder interferometer, matched to the optical frequency of the light source on the transmitting side, can be set. 摘要： A phase-locked loop comprises a signal path including a phase comparator, a loop filter and a voltage-controlled oscillator that are cascaded. The phase comparator compares the phases of an input signal with the phase of the output signal from the voltage-controlled oscillator and produces the result of comparison. The loop filter produces DC voltage in response to the output signal from the phase comparator. The voltage-controlled oscillator controls output oscillation frequency according to the DC output voltage from the loop filter. Voltage tracking means combines the voltage of the signal path with a signal for making the average voltage output from the phase comparator equal to a predetermined reference voltage. The voltage tracking means serves to expand the lock range of the phase-locked loop.

摘要： PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To suppress waveform distortion and noise of ultra high speed signal light and to increase a transmission distance and transmission capacity by a simple constitution which is not provided with a retiming means. SOLUTION: Input signal light and auxiliary light are inputted to an optical fiber 14, provided with a value for which a zero dispersion wavelength, is equal to an input signal light wavelength or slightly shifted to a short wavelength side and a 4-light-wave mixing process is induced. In such an optical fiber 14, 4-light-wave mixing light power abruptly becomes large when input signal light power becomes more than a certain threshold, the input signal light power inside the optical fiber 14 lowers as a reaction and output signal light power is clamped at a fixed value. By the light limiter operation, the noise of the '1' level of input optical signals is suppressed. Then, by converting the optical signals waveform-shaped in such a manner to electric signals modulating the non-modulated light of a prescribed wavelength by the electrical signals, the reproduction of the ultra high speed optical signals to the limit of the operation speed of a photoelectric converter 16, and an optical modulator is performed.

In this case, the code conversion circuit is provided with a multiplex pre-conversion circuit 100 that receives a 1st n-parallel electric signal with a signal rate of 1/n before n-multiplexing, outputs a code-converted n- parallel 2nd electric signal, and conducts code conversion so that a 3rd electric signal generated when the n-parallel 2nd electric signal is time division multiplexed for each bit is equal to a signal obtained by referencial encoding after each bit of the binary data is n-multiplexed by time division.
