    • PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To manufacture a defect-marked coil in which a hamrful defect can be discriminated surely and easily. SOLUTION: In a continuous treatment line for a steel sheet, a surface defect meter which detects a surface flaw is installed, and an ink marker apparatus by which a marking operation is performed to the position of a defect by using an ink is installed, or an internal defect meter which detects a defect at the inside of the steel sheet is installed. The treatment line is provided with a process in which the steel sheet is treated continuously. The treatment line is provided with a process in which the surface flaw of the steel sheet is detected by the surface defect meter, which computes the name of the defect, the grade of the defect, the length of the defect and the position of the defect in the width direction on the basis of information on the defeated flaw and which discriminates a harmful defect, a hard-to- discriminate defect and a harmless defect. The treatment line is provided with a process in which the internal flaw of the steel sheet is detected by the internal defect meter, which computes the length of the defect and the position of the defect in the width direction on the basis of the information on the detected flaw and which discriminates the harmful defect and the harmless defect. The treatment line is provided with a process in which the position of every flaw is tracked about the harmful defect and the hard-to-discriminate defect and in which the marking operation is performed to the position of the defect by using the ink at a point of time when the part of the defect reaches the ink marker apparatus.

    • PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To unify a quality management and to reduce a quality dispersion between respective steps and a work load for an inspection by editing a surface defect image and a defect information in the respective steps and simultaneously indicating it in the respective steps. SOLUTION: In a front surface detector 12 and a back surface detector 13, the defect of front and back surfaces of a cold drawing steel plate is detected by a CCD camera. A detection signal is corrected by a shelling correcting device 31 and is binarized by a binary device 32. The value is compared and decided with a threshold by a defect candidate detector 14, and a defect candidate point is detected. Then, a defect image is stored in a defect image primary memorizing device 15, and a defect name and a defect grade are separated by a defect separating device 16. After separation, only a defect image designated and separated is memorized in a secondary storage device 17. Then, information such as a defect name and a defect position are also given to the defect image secondary memorizing device 17 as an information and is fed to a detection control portion 18. The detection control portion 18 indicates the defect image and the defect information on a defect information correcting device 22 and CRT, 23, 24 for indicating a surface defect image and stores those information.
