    • PURPOSE:To improve inspection by recognizing the abnormal causes of the object to be inspected including status errors and sensor failures and making an alarm which corresponds to their recognition in a system which gives an alarm when the objects to be inspected, such as engine exhaust gas temperatures are abnormal. CONSTITUTION:When the exhaust temperature of a catalyst converter 6 is stable near approximately 500 deg.C during the engine operation and when an exhaust temperature sensor 8 is normally operated, an alarm signal is not generated from a microcomputer 14 if the engine is operated. Then when the exhaust gas temperature of the catalyst converter 6 reaches the first preset value, for example, 700 deg.C or more due to the accidental fire of the engine, an abnormal recognition routine is executed. When the said temperature exceeds the second preset value, for example, 900 deg.C, any of types of character display, 'Over run', 'abnormal rise due to an accidental fire', and 'connect short' is displayed from an indicator 20 in accordance with the size of its temperature rate of change and a voice to the effect is issued through a voice composite circuit 22 from a speaker 24.

CONSTITUTION:A timer circuit 8 counts, through a monitor circuit, the duration time of a brake release signal O1 which is issued from a control circuit 3 to actuate an actuator 4 through a drive circuit 5, and delivers a cut signal O3 when the duration time of the brake release singal exceeds a predetermined time period, to cease the operation of the actuator 4 by means of a cut-off circuit 6. Therefore, the control of brake pressure reduction is inhibited. A failure signal O3 from the above-mentioned control device 3 also inhibits the control. With this arrangement, the fail-safe condition upon failure may be obtained.

    • PURPOSE:To prevent the trouble of runaway or hunting from occurring, by providing an AND circuit which operates AND between the output of a comparator and the output of a fault detecting circuit and outputs a signal corresponding to the comparator only when the fault of an oscillator is not detected. CONSTITUTION:The output of a frequency-voltage converting circuit 1 and the output of a memory circuit 2 are subjected to subtraction in a subtractor 3 to output a voltage signal proportional to the difference between the set speed and the actual speed, and this voltage signal is given to the inversion input terminal of a comparator 6 through a phase compensating circuit 4 which is inserted for the purpose of stabilizing the system. Oscillation impossibility or shift of the oscillation frequency of an oscillator 5 is detected by a frequency detecting circuit 8' consisting of a frequency-voltage converter and a window comparator; and if the output of the oscillator is shifted from a prescribed value, this shift is detected by a voltage detecting circuit 8 including a comparator. Thus, the AND circuit is provided which outputs a signal corresponding to the comparator only when the fault of the oscillator is not detected, and an actuator is driven by the output of this circuit.

    • PURPOSE:To prevent the deviation from a target speed and to ensure the stable car driving by increasing the control gain when the actual speed gets deviated from the target speed more than in the case where the actual speed approximates to the target speed. CONSTITUTION:A switch flag FS is set with operation of a set switch 23, and a computer 31 performs the constant speed drive control. At this time point, the actual speed VS is stored temporarily in a target speed area in the form of a target speed VO. In a control mode the computer 31 calculates the value of the control signal which is applied to an actuating device 50 to obtain an opening amount of a throttle valve 60 which is needed to maintain the actual speed at the target level. In this case, a small change is applied to the opening amount of the valve 60 in a stable area where the variance of the drive load is reduced to maintain the constant speed of a vehicle. If the drive load increases extremely, the target opening amount of the valve 60 is changed to satisfy a specific limiter line. Thus the control gain is substantially increased to prevent the increment of difference between the actual speed of the vehicle and its target speed.

    • PURPOSE:To permit stable constant-speed traveling by installing a negative- pressure sensor for detecting the negative-pressure in an intake manifold and a constant-speed traveling controlling circuit for constant-speed traveling. CONSTITUTION:A car-speed sensor 90 detects a car speed and a throttle actuator 20 controls the opening degree of an accelerator. An overdrive stop solenoid 60 operates a speed change mechanism to switch a gear ratio. A negative-pressure sensor 40 for detecting the negative-pressure in an intake manifold is installed. In a constant-speed traveling controlling circuit 1, traveling with the highest gear ratio is suspended as the car speed reduces, and traveling is carried-out through speed change to the lower gear ratio. When the negative-pressure sensor detects that the pressure in the intake manifold rises over a prescribed value as the car speed is restored, traveling with the highest gear ratio is restored. Thus, stable constant-speed traveling is permitted even on a slope having a long rising gradient.
