    • A fuel injection valve of a diesel engine, comprising a valve body including a concave conical surface in the tip portion of the valve body, and fuel injection holes extending from the concave surface to the outside of the valve body, and a needle valve movable in the valve body and including a cylindrical shaft portion, a first conical surface adjacent to the shaft portion and having a conical angle smaller than that of the concave surface, the lower edge of the first conical surface defining a contact line separably contacting with the concave surface, a second conical surface adjacent to the first surface and having a conical angle substantially equal to that of the concave surface, a third conical surface adjacent to the second surface and having a conical angle greater than that of the concave surface. In case of a smaller lift amount of the needle valve, the fuel flow speed flowing into the fuel injection hole is fast and the atomized fuel injection divergence angle from the injection hole is great, thereby producing active producing mixing of the fuel with the air and enhancing the ignition feature, while in case of a greater lift amount, the fuel flow speed is slow and the atomized fuel injection divergence angle from the injection hole is small, thereby increasing the fuel flow reach and producing an active mixing of the fuel with the air by virtue of the kinetic energy of the atomized fuel flow.

    • PURPOSE:To suppress the loss of the driving torque and the reduction and fluctuation of the pressure by connecting a fuel injection valve to a high-pressure feed pump via a pressure accumulator and a switch control valve and switching the switch control valve to control the communication state between the fuel injection valve and the high-pressure feed pump. CONSTITUTION:When the fuel injection of an internal combustion engine is to be started, a switch control valve 8 is switched by an ECU 120, high-pressure fuel is fed from the pressurization chamber 22 of a high-pressure feed pump 6 to the pressure chamber 68 of a fuel injection chamber 22, a pressure control valve 58 is closed. The high-pressure fuel of the pressurization chamber 22 is fed to a fuel reservoir 38 via a pressure accumulator 4, a nozzle valve 44 is lifted to open a nozzle hole 40. As a piston 50 is further lifted, the fuel in a back pressure chamber 48 is gradually discharged to a fuel tank 12 via an orifice 74. On the other hand, at the time of stopping the fuel injection, the switch control valve 8 is switched, the pressurization chamber 22 and the pressure chamber 68 are communicated to the fuel tank 12 respectively. The pressure control valve 58 is opened by the high-pressure fuel of the pressure accumulator 4, the fuel injection valve 2 is closed.

    • PURPOSE:To improve a fuel spray characteristic without entailing any drop in an actual spray rate at the time of controlling the spray rate by means of needle lift control. CONSTITUTION:A nozzle body 14 is provided with a first conical surface 25 made up of forming a specified angle in a tip inner part and two nozzle holes 28, 29 formed as interconnecting to the outside from the inside of a second conical surface ranging to this first conical surface 25. A needle valve 15 set up shiftably in the nozzle body 14 is provided with the nozzle body 14, a cylindrical shaft body 31, a first incline 32 being formed at a tip of this cylindrical shaft body 31, and a second incline 33 being formed at a tip of this first incline 21. In this needle valve 15, distances La, Lb between the needle valve and nozzle hole inlet are set up so as to make an effective passage area at each inlet of these nozzle holes 28, 29 variable according to a lift value. In succession, fuel is fed under pressure in the nozzle body 14, through which the needle valve 15 is opened, and fuel is sprayed out of these nozzle holes 28, 29.
