    • The apparatus for detecting remaining charge of a battery, according to the present invention, comprises: current detector for detecting output electric current from and regenerative electric current to the battery; voltage detector for detecting a voltage output from the battery; low-pass filter for filtering the results of detection by the current detector and the voltage detector; time constant changer for changing the time constant of the low-pass filter; integrator for calculating the remaining charge in the battery by integrating the result of detection by the current detector; threshold voltage calculator for calculating a threshold voltage value corresponding to a specified value of the remaining charge, based on the electric current value filtered by the filter; comparator for comparing the threshold voltage value, calculated by the threshold voltage calculator, with the voltage value filtered by the filter; and resetter for resetting the remaining charge to the specified value when the filtered voltage value exceeds the threshold voltage value.

    • The control system for the hybrid vehicle of the present invention, having an engine for producing a driving force for the vehicle, a motor for producing an assist driving force to assist the output from the engine, and a battery for supplying electric energy to the motor and storing energy regenerated by the motor which acts as a generator, the control system comprises: a voltage detector for detecting a voltage from the battery; a full charge judgement device for judging full charge of the battery based on the voltage detected by the voltage detector; a charging electric power variation detector for detecting variation in a charging electric power for charging the battery; and a full charge judgement prevention device for preventing judging of full charge when the charging electric power variation detector detects the variation in the charging electric power.

    • An apparatus for displaying the residual capacity of a battery includes a temperature indicator composed of a linear array of spaced light-emitting elements for displaying the temperature of the battery by way of light emitted from a succession of those of the light-emitting elements which correspond to the temperature of the battery detected by a temperature detector, a fully charged capacity indicator composed of a linear array of spaced light-emitting elements for displaying the fully charged capacity of the battery in association with the displayed temperature of the battery by way of light emitted from one of the light-emitting elements which is in a position corresponding to the fully charged capacity obtained based on the temperature of the battery, and a residual capacity indicator composed of a linear array of spaced light-emitting elements for displaying the residual capacity of the battery in association with the fully charged capacity by way of light emitted from a succession of those of the light-emitting elements which correspond to the residual capacity calculated by an electronic control unit.
