    • PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a new technology, which properly designs and controls an internal loss that determines sound quality while maintaining specific modules of elasticity which a boron carbide itself has, to provide a diaphram for high performance speaker, which realizes conflicting characteristics (high elasticity and appropriate internal loss) in good balance, and to provide a technology capable of providing, at a low cost in a stable manner, a diaphragm for a high performance speaker which is made from a sintered body of boron carbide itself, with no micro cracking present, being suitable for achieving excellent acoustic effect with no use of metal base material such as aluminum.SOLUTION: There is provided a ceramic diaphragm for a high performance speaker, in which an internal loss is controlled without degrading elasticity of ceramics which is a main component, the main component of the diaphragm being boron carbide ceramics, and non-oxide ceramics being contained in the range of 5 to 15 mass%. There is also provided a method of manufacturing the diaphragm.

    • PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a stoke having strength, wear resistance, corrosion resistance and thermal shock resistance necessary for a cast member, and also having economical efficiency, durability and consistent quality while any slag is hardly deposited thereon.
      SOLUTION: In the casting stoke with the slag deposition preventive function and its manufacturing method, the stoke is used for casting molten aluminum, and has unevenness including a large number of polygonal pyramids, spherical projections, groove and/or holes in a strip-shaped area forming a part in contact with slag floating at least in the vicinity of the level of the molten aluminum. The part having the unevenness is filled with inorganic substances as necessary. Since the inorganic substances are filled in the projections and holes on the surface, bonding with a base metal is increased, and the crack propagation in a thick film is suppressed thereby. Further, in the member for the molten aluminum with the slag deposition preventive function, the slag is hardly deposited thereon and the quality is consistent.
