    • A two-cylinder overhead-valve V-engine has two cylinders arranged so as to form a V-bank (S). Each cylinder is provided with push rods (15, 16) for operating an intake valve rocker arm (12) and an exhaust valve rocker arm (13). The push rods (15, 16) of each cylinder extend gradually away from each other toward a valve rocker arm chamber. An air intake passage is formed between the push rods (15, 16) in the cylinder head (3) of each cylinder. An air intake port (24) is formed in the cylinder head (3) so as to open into the V-bank (S). The air intake port (24) of each cylinder head (3) is connected by the air intake passage formed in the V-bank (S) to a carburetor disposed in the V-bank (S). A water jacket outlet (25) is formed near the air intake port (24) in a part of the cylinder head (3) in between the push rods(15,16). The water jacket outlets (25) of the cylinder heads (3) are connected by a cooling water passage adjacent to the air intake passage.

    • An automatic compression releasing device intended for reducing the pressure inside the combustion chamber of the four cycle engine at the start by opening and closing the intake or exhaust valve of the combustion chamber actuated by the cam on the cam shaft through the tappet. A single moving piece mounted, on the side of the gear integrated with the cam shaft, as enclosing the cam shaft, can slide over the side of the gear in a given direction, guided by two slots opened in the moving piece and two pins planted on the gear side. A tappet lifting arm is extended from the moving piece to such a position as to push up the tappet. At the start, the centrifugal force on the moving piece is designed not to exceed the opposing force, thus keeping the tappet lifting arm projected out of the cam base circle, and also retaining the returning force of the moving piece acting on the tappet lifting arm through the tappet being supported by the guide slots and pins. During the normal rpm, the centrifugal force on the moving piece overcomes aforesaid opposing force to slide the moving piece along said guide slots, bringing the tappet lifting arm level with or further down into the cam base circle.

    • A small watercraft having a float on either side of its hull pivotally connected thereto for rotation about a shaft mounted parallel to the direction of movement of the watercraft between a horizontal operative position and a vertical inoperative position taken when the watercraft is stowed away. The floats can be locked in these two positions and in any position as desired between these two positions. Each float is substantially triangular in planar configuration and diverges in going toward the stern of the watercraft. When the watercraft is stationary on the water, the forward end of each float is exposed from the surface of the water; and when the watercraft is planing, each float is exposed in its entirety on the surface of the water.
