    • A monolithic circuit, such as a piezoelectric device, semiconductor, or the like, may be fabricated by forming an operational metallization layer (12) on a substrate (10). A subsequent layer (40), such as a sealing ring pattern (42) may then be applied using a thin film deposition technique. A thin film material is applied through a mask assembly (28). The mask assembly (28) includes a mask material (30) that has been applied to a screen (24) and patterned as desired. The mask material (30) extends beyond the screen (24) so that only the mask material contacts the substrate (10) during thin film deposition. Preferably, the screen (24) is woven from individual wires (26) having circular cross-sectional shapes. The subsequent layer (40) is applied both through perforations (18) in the screen (24) and under the screen's wires (26).

    • An apparatus is provided that includes a processor and a memory storing executable instructions that in response to execution by the processor cause the apparatus to at least perform a number of functions. The functions include selecting or receiving selection of a multimedia object including an associated identifier, and generating one or more audio tracks of audio tones representing the identifier. The multimedia object is presentable by a computing apparatus, and the audio track(s) collectively form an album for the multimedia object. The functions also include directing a transfer of the album including the audio track(s) to a media player for subsequent playback of the audio track(s). The computing apparatus is configured to pickup the audio tones of the audio track(s) during the playback, interpret the audio tones to identify the multimedia object from the identifier represented by the audio tones, and access and present the identified multimedia object.

    • Methods and an apparatus for determining at least one characteristic of an environment are disclosed. A vibrational energy may be imparted into an environment and a magnitude of damping of the vibrational energy may be measured and at least one characteristic of the environment may be determined. Particularly, a vibratory source may be operated and coupled to an environment. At least one characteristic of the environment may be determined based on a shift in at least one steady-state frequency of oscillation of the vibratory source. An apparatus may include at least one vibratory source and a structure for positioning the at least one vibratory source proximate to an environment. Further, the apparatus may include an analysis device for determining at least one characteristic of the environment based at least partially upon shift in a steady-state oscillation frequency of the vibratory source for the given impetus.
