    • PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a monitor apparatus for vehicle whereby a relation between a vehicle and an obstacle can more easily be decided when an omnidirectional camera takes images of the surrounding state of a vehicle.
SOLUTION: An omnidirectional front camera 10 is mounted on a front bumper 1. The position of a reflecting mirror 13 in the omnidirectional camera 10 is set so that the front bumper 1 is located nearly vertically downward of the reflecting mirror 13 and the outermost circumferential edge 1a of the front bumper 1 is included in the imaging range. A display apparatus 20a installed in the interior of the vehicle displays the images taken and an image 1aK corresponding to the outermost circumferential edge 1a of the front bumper 1 is displayed in the displayed image. A line corresponding to an extension (γ in Figure 8) resulting from extending the tip of a side mirror of the vehicle in the forward / backward direction of the vehicle is displayed on the display apparatus 20a as a forward / backward directional extension line γK as an auxiliary display. Moreover, a graphic of the vehicle as a related display (simplified projection diagram obtained by projecting the vehicle V from above onto the ground face) is displayed in a portion of the inner side of the vehicle body from a display part of the front bumper 1, and the meaning of the γK is made clear by drawing the tip of the side mirror in the vehicle graphic such that the auxiliary display line γK passes through the tip.

    • PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a monitor apparatus for vehicle capable of automatically displaying a proper video image in response to a change in a position for which a driver and passengers should take care in order to avoid an obstacle.
SOLUTION: The monitor apparatus for vehicle is provided with an omnidirectional front camera 10 for imaging the front and side direction and a rear camera 9 for imaging a rear downward direction of the vehicle. A wide imaging range of the omnidirectional front camera 10 can be separated into three narrow imaging ranges (three split images). A display apparatus displays a video image selected by a manual operation among video images in total of four comprising the three split images and the rear downward image. For example, every time a vehicle state is changed in response to the operation of a steering wheel or the like, the displayed image is sequentially manually selected as display of the split video image at first in mode 1, then display of the split image in mode 3, and display of the rear downward video image finally, and stored in a memory S3. Then, a vehicle state that is stored and nearly matching with the present vehicle state is selected and the display apparatus displays the image of the imaging range corresponding to the selected vehicle state.

    • PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a monitor apparatus for a vehicle capable of more properly providing information on the surrounding state to a driver and passengers in displaying video images imaged by a plurality of imaging means within the vehicle.
SOLUTION: The monitor apparatus includes an omnidirectional front camera 10 for imaging the state of the left and front directions of the vehicle of the vehicle; and a rear camera 9 for imaging a vehicle surrounding state in the rear downward direction. A display apparatus 20a installed on the interior of the vehicle displays an imaged video. A wide imaging range of the front camera 10 is separated into three narrow split imaging ranges (three corresponding split images). One or a plurality of video images are manually selected among video images in total four comprising the three split video images and the rear downward video image in the video images displayed on the display apparatus 20a. When a plurality of the video images are designated, the plurality of the video images are simultaneously displayed on the display apparatus 20a. For example, when a variable speed stage of a gear change is set to a backward position, the video image first displayed on the display apparatus 20a may be automatically selected from a video image taken by the rear camera 10.
