摘要： All or a portion of chlorinated hydrocarbons convertible to trichloroethylene and/or perchloroethylene by chlorination, dehydrochlorination or dehydrogenation and optionally also dechloroination are recovered from a C.sub.2 chlorinated hydrocarbon waste stream and contacted with a molten mixture of, for example, cuprous chloride, cupric chloride and copper oxychloride and hydrogen chloride and/or chlorine, to produce an effluent which contains as reaction product trichloroethylene and/or perchloroethylene. Chlorinated components in the waste stream not contacted with the molten mixture can be burned and the chlorine values used to enrich the chlorine content of the melt.

摘要： A compound is chlorinated with chlorine to produce chlorinated product and hydrogen chloride byproduct. Recovered hydrogen chloride byproduct is contacted with oxygen and a molten salt mixture containing the higher and lower valent chlorides of a multivalent metal, such as cuprous and cupric chloride, to effect recovery of the hydrogen chloride by enriching the molten salt content of the higher valent chloride. The molten salt, enriched in higher valent chloride, is then dechlorinated by use of a stripping gas, preferably hydrogen chloride, to produce a gaseous effluent containing stripped chlorine and the stripping gas, which is then recycled to the chlorination step. The presence of stripping gas, as a diluent, improves the chlorination operation.

摘要： In an integrated process for oxychlorination and combustion of chlorinated hydrocarbons, chlorinated hydrocarbons is burned to recover chlorine values essentially as hydrogen chloride. Combustion effluent and off-gas from an oxychlorination reaction are simultaneously treated to recover anhydrous hydrogen chloride for use in the oxychlorination reaction. In accordance with one embodiment, off-gas from the oxychlorination is employed in the combustion, prior to hydrogen chloride recovery in order to utilize any oxygen values therein. The process has particular applicability to an oxychlorination reaction of the type wherein a molten salt containing the higher and lower valent chlorides of a multivalent metal is contacted with hydrogen chloride and oxygen to recover hydrogen chloride by enriching the higher valent metal chloride content of the molten salt.

摘要： Process for producing vinyl chloride from ethane by contacting, in a first reactor, ethane and chlorine and/or hydrogen chloride, as fresh feed, and as recycle, hydrogen chloride, ethyl chloride, ethylene and unconverted ethane with a molten mixture, including cuprous chloride, cupric chloride and copper oxychloride, to produce a reaction effluent including vinyl chloride, dichloroethane, primarily 1,2-dichloroethane, and the aforementioned recycle components. The vinyl chloride is recovered as product, the recycle components are recovered and recycled to the first reactor, and the 1,2-dichloroethane is recovered and recycled to the first reactor or contacted in a second reactor with a molten mixture including cuprous and cupric chloride to dehydrochlorinate the 1,2-dichloroethane to vinyl chloride. The molten mixture from the first reactor or second reactor, if employed, is contacted in a third reactor with molecular oxygen to generate copper oxychloride and melt from the third reactor is passed to the first reactor. 1,1-dichloroethane, if produced, may be passed to the first or second reactor for dehydrochlorination to vinyl chloride.
