    • PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a simple optical pickup of optical system which miniaturizes a device, and also to provide an optical disk device. SOLUTION: An optical member has at least first and second tilt surfaces in its inside. The first and second tilt surfaces are provided with first and second polarized light separation parts, respectively. The first polarized light separation part has polarizing properties to light of shorter wavelength, and the second polarized light separation part has polarizing properties to light of longer wavelength. For the light of shorter wavelength and the light of longer wavelength radiated from a light source, the P-wave component passes through the first and second polarized light separation parts and goes toward an optical disk. For the light of longer wavelength reflected from the optical disk, the S-wave component is reflected at the second polarized light separation part and reaches a light-receiving element, and the S-wave component of the light of shorter wavelength reflected from the optical disk passes through the second polarized light separation part. For the light of shorter wavelength transmitted through the second polarized light separation part, the S-wave component is reflected at the first polarized light separation part and reaches the light-receiving element.
