    • A fluid pressure controlling solenoid valve is disclosed for producing an oil pressure which drives a brake pressure controlling piston in a manner such that an brake oil pressure applied to the brakes associated with wheels in response to the depression of a brake pedal is adjusted to a low value in order to prevent a high slip ratio of wheels with respect to a road surface and to a high value when the slip ratio is reduced. A switching solenoid valve is assembled on the upper end face of an intermediate member formed of a magnetic material and having a first fluid path extending therethrough from its upper to its lower end face for selectively connecting the first fluid path with a reduced pressure input port and a high pressure input port. A switching solenoid valve which opens or closes the connection between the first fluid path and the output port is assembled on the lower end face of the intermediate member. The solenoid valve has an orifice of a reduced diameter which maintains a communication between the first fluid path and the output port.

    • An anti-skid apparatus for installation in a vehicle braking system having a master cylinder, a wheel brake cylinder and a primary fluid passage connecting the cylinders includes a changeover valve disposed in the primary passage to selectively communicate the wheel brake cylinder with the master cylinder or with a reservoir, and a fluid pump for pumping a brake fluid from the reservoir and returning it to a point of the primary passage between the master cylinder and the changeover valve, via a check valve. The anti-skid apparatus further includes a cut-off valve disposed in the primary passage between the master cylinder and the point where the pumped fluid is returned, and a regulator valve disposed in a recirculation passage for recirculating the pumped fluid to the reservoir. The cut-off valve normally allows a flow of the fluid and inhibits the flow of the fluid when the hydraulic pressure from the master cylinder exceeds the pressure from the wheel brake cylinder by at least a predetermined value. The regulator regulates the pressure of the pumped fluid at a value higher than the pressure from the wheel brake cylinder by a predetermined value.

    • A brake control device for vehicles includes a master cylinder, a plurality of wheel cylinders, and an anti-lock control apparatus disposed between the master cylinder and the wheel cylinders of at least one hydraulic circuit. The anti-lock control apparatus includes a hydraulic pump, a reservoir and a changeover device which is selectively changed over at least between a first condition which permits an increase in the hydraulic pressure of the wheel cylinders of at least one hydraulic circuit and a second condition which permits an decrease in the hydraulic pressure of the wheel cylinders of at least one hydraulic circuit in response to the locking condition of the road wheels. The hydraulic pump includes a housing, a slidable piston device for defining a pump chamber which is communicated with the reservoir and the changeover device at a side of one end thereof in the housing, an inlet check valve disposed between the pump chamber and the reservoir for permitting fluid communication from the reservoir to the pump chamber and for interrupting fluid communication from the pump chamber to the reservoir, an outlet check valve disposed between the pump chamber and the changeover device for permitting fluid communication from the pump chamber to the changeover device and for interrupting fluid communication from the changeover device to the pump chamber, and a piezo element for reciprocating the piston device disposed at the other end of the piston device.

The pressure decrease control valve increases an amount of pressurized oil flow from the wheel brake to the reservoir when wheel brake pressure decreases and decreases the amount of pressurized oil flow from the wheel brake when wheel brake pressure increases. The pressure increase and decrease control valves are formed integral.

    • An anti-skid control system for an automotive vehicle is provided with an actuator which is disposed in a hydraulic circuit between a pressure generator and a wheel brake cylinder. The actuator is arranged to control the hydraulic braking pressure applied to the wheel brake cylinder. In response to a wheel speed detected by a wheel speed detector, it is determined in an electronic control unit whether a condition for decreasing the braking pressure is effected. When this condition is effected, the decrease mode is provided in the control unit. When a predetermined period of time lapses after the decrease mode is initiated, the decrease mode is turned to a pressure control mode for applying the braking pressure to prevent the road wheel from being locked. When the condition is not effected during the predetermined period of time after the decrease mode is initiated, the decrease mode is turned to a direct supply mode for directly communicating the pressure generator with the wheel brake cylinder. Consequently, the lack of braking force caused by the delay of timing for decreasing the hydraulic braking pressure due to an erroneous detection of a locking condition of the road wheel on a rough road is effectively prevented.

    • The present invention relates an antiskid apparatus for an automotive vehicle. The apparatus includes a cut-off valve which is connected between a master cylinder and a wheel cylinder and provides communication therebetween in response to wheel cylinder pressure and cuts off pressurized hydraulic fluid from the master cylinder when an antiskid operation is performed by the control system. A solenoid valve is positioned in a conduit which connects the wheel cylinder to the cut-off valve. The solenoid valve is also connected to a discharge side of a pump which circulates pressurized oil. When the solenoid is in a normal position, the wheel cylinder is connected to the cut-off valve in the discharge side of the pump. When changed over from the normal position, the solenoid valve disconnects the wheel cylinder from the cut-off valve and the discharge side of the pump and connects the wheel cylinder to a reservoir connected to an intake side of the pump.
