    • The present invention relates to hybrid coating compositions containing A) 5 to 80 wt %, based on the weight of A) and B), of an aliphatic polyisocyanate-aminosilane adduct that is the reaction product of A1) a polyisocyanate component having an average NCO functionality of 2.5 to 5.5 and an isocyanate content, based on solids, of 9 to 50 wt % and containing aliphatic polyisocyanates with A2) at least 0.7 amino equivalents, based on the NCO equivalents of A1), of an aminosilane corresponding to formula (I) (RO)nY3−nSi—CH2CH2CH2—NHZ  (I), wherein R and Y represent methyl and/or ethyl, Z represents H, C1-C12 alkyl, CH2CH2CH2-Si(OR)2Y3−n and n has a value of 1, 2 or 3 and A3) optionally isocyanate-reactive compounds other than A2), and B) 20 to 95 wt %, based on the weight of A) and B), of at least one hydrolyzable silane corresponding to formula (II) QSi(OX)3  (II), wherein X represents C1 to C4 alkyl and Q represents H, C1 to C8 alkyl, phenyl, methoxy, ethoxy, 3-glycidyloxypropyl, 3-aminopropyl and methacryloxypropyl and/or hydrolyzates/condensates obtained from these silanes. The present invention also relates to the use of these coating compositions for coating various substrates, such as paints, plastics, granite, marble, metal, wood, leather and textiles.

    • The present invention relates to coating compositions containing 40 to 100% by weight, based on resin solids, of an alkoxysilyl-functional polyisocyanate polyurea which is reaction product of A) a polyisocyanate component having an average functionality of 2.5 to 5.5, an NCO content of 11.0 to 20.0% by weight and a monomeric diisocyanate content of less than 10% by weight, and containing at least 50% by weight of a polyisocyanate prepared from 4,4′-diisocyanatodicyclohexyl-methane with B) at least 0.7 equivalents, based on the equivalents of isocyanate groups, of an aminosilane corresponding to formula (I) (RO)nY(3−n)Si—CH2CH2CH2—NHZ  (I),  wherein R represents methyl or ethyl, Y represents methyl, Z represents H, a C1-C12 alkyl or CH2CH2CH2—Si(OR)nY3−n, and n is 1, 2 or 3, and C) optionally other isocyanate-reactive compounds. The present invention also relates the hydrolyzates/condensates that are prepared by adding water or an aqueous solution of a catalyst to the coating compositions according to the invention.

    • The present invention relates to a process for preparing polyisocyanates containing allophanate groups by reacting compounds a), which i) contain urethane groups, but which are substantially free of hydroxyl groups and isocyanate groups, ii) have an average of at least two urethane groups per molecule, iii) are prepared by reacting organic isocyanates a1) with organic hydroxyl compounds a2) and iv) have an average molecular weight of at most 2,500, with excess quantities, based on the urethane groups, of distillable organic polyisocyanates b) to form polyisocyanates containing allophanate groups and subsequently removing by distillation the unreacted excess of component b) to a residual content of less than 0.5 wt. %, provided that polyisocyanates a1) and polyisocyanates b) are different. The present invention also relates to the products obtained from this process and to their use as binders or binder components in coating compositions.
