SOLUTION: A pot 2 is freely attachably/detachably housed in the rice cooker body 1, and is heated by a cast heater 4, and the upper surface opening of the rice cooker main body 1 is freely openably/closably covered by a lid body 3. The operation section 5 which is operated by the user is arranged at the upper section on the front surface of the rice cooker body 1, and the operation board 6 corresponding to the operation section 5 is provided in the rice cooker body 1. The power source is fed to the operation board 5 by the power source board 7. The operation board 6 and the power source board 7 are connected with each other by a connecting wire 10, and at the same time, are fixed to one board base 8, and a shielding rib 8a is arranged in an approximately vertical direction of the power source board 7 on the board base 8.

In the brake means 7, the rotation of the hinge shaft 3 is increased by a gear group, and it is transmitted to the centrifugal brake device, then, a braking force is applied, and also, the braking force functions from the beginning of the opening of the cover 2, which opens the cover 2 smoothly.
