    • PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a lighting system for a vehicle capable of realizing proper lighting under all traveling states of the vehicle. SOLUTION: In this system, irradiating directions of lamps provided on left and right sides of the vehicle can be deflected to left and right sides by interlocking with steering of a steering device. Deflection angles of the left and right lamps in relation to a steering angle are changed in different forms according to speed of the vehicle. When the speed of the vehicle is below prescribed speed at the time of right steering, for instance, only the right lamp RH is made to perform a deflection operation. When the speed of the vehicle exceeds the prescribed speed, both of the lamps RH and LH are made to simultaneously perform deflection operations. Since the deflection angles of the left and right lamps are different corresponding to a change of the speed of the vehicle, the lighting for improving visibility in a preceding region in front of the vehicle at the time of high speed when the vehicle travels, while performing left steering and right steering and for improving visibility in a region just before the vehicle at the time of middle and low speed can be realized. SOLUTION: The auto-leveling system for the head lamp includes an irradiation control means which deflects vertically the irradiation direction of the head lamp depending upon the posture of the vehicle.     • PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To enhance the degree of freedom of design of factory layout when initialization of an irradiation direction controller is performed in an assembling factory of a vehicle and to enhance production efficiency. SOLUTION: The irradiation direction controller is provided with a memory 11 for storing a design reference value of the vehicle and storing output voltages of vehicle height sensors FHS and RHS as a measurement reference value when the vehicle is at a reference attitude; an operation part 13 for operating a pitch angle of the vehicle based on detection outputs of the vehicle height sensor FHS and RHS, the reference vehicle height and the design reference value; and a deflection-control part 14 for deflection-controlling the irradiation direction of a lamp HL based on the operated pitch angle. Even if the design reference value of the vehicle is stored in the memory 11 at a later step of an assembling step of the vehicle, the reference vehicle height can be operated by the output voltage and the design reference value and the initialization based on the reference vehicle height can be accomplished.
