    • A device for electrically connecting a plurality of batteries includes a member including a handle and two arms extending from the handle. The handle includes a first portion, a second portion spaced apart from the first portion, and a connector extending between the first portion and the second portion. The member also includes a contact coupled to a first of the two arms for contacting at least a portion of a battery terminal when the device is secured to a battery. The first of the two arms is configured for securing the device to a first side of a battery and a second of the two arms is configured for securing the device to a second side of the battery.

    • A method for erecting a platform is provided. The method includes providing a selectively liftable platform mechanism wherein the platform mechanism generally includes a platform, a trailer, and a support structure on the trailer. The support structure includes a ladder having a distal end pivotally connected to the platform, and a proximal end pivotally and slidably connected to the trailer. The proximal end of the ladder is movable along the longitudinal axis of the trailer in order to level the platform in a raised position. The support structure further includes at least one support bar having a proximal end pivotally connected to a first end of the trailer, and a distal end pivotally connected to the platform. The platform mechanism further includes a stop member to limit longitudinal movement of the proximal end of the ladder towards a second end of the trailer, and an erection assembly. The method next includes using the erection assembly to rotate the at least one support bar and the ladder so as to raise the platform from a lowered position adjacent the trailer, to a raised position. The method also includes sliding the proximal end of the ladder towards the second end of the trailer to engage the stop member, thereby limiting further longitudinal movement of the proximal end of the ladder towards the second end of the trailer, and thereby leveling the platform in its raised position.

    • A method for erecting a platform is presented. The method includes providing a selectively liftable platform mechanism wherein the platform mechanism generally includes a platform, a trailer, at least one support bar, and a ladder. The at least one support bar and the ladder provide structural support for the platform when the platform is raised above the trailer. The at least one support bar has a proximal end pivotally connected to a first end of the trailer, and a distal end pivotally connected to the platform. The ladder has a distal end pivotally connected to the platform, and a proximal end pivotally and slidably connected to the trailer. The proximal end of the ladder is movable along a longitudinal axis of the trailer in order to level the platform in its raised position. The platform mechanism also includes a cable operatively connected to the platform. The method includes turning a winch in order to apply tension to the cable; further turning the winch so as to raise the support bar to an angle of approximately 45° relative to the trailer, and thereby elevating the platform; and still further turning the winch so as to raise the support bar and the ladder to an angle greater than 45° relative to the trailer and producing a tilt to the elevated platform. The method then includes sliding the proximal end of the ladder along the trailer so as to level the platform into a horizontal orientation in its raised position.
