    • A tightening tool includes a drive member rotatably driven by a motor. An intermediate member is interposed between the drive member and a spindle and rotatable with the drive member. A claw clutch is formed between the spindle and the intermediate member and is engageable when the spindle is moved axially through abutment of a bit on a work. A connecting mechanism is interposed between the intermediate member and the drive member for permitting rotation of the intermediate member relative to the drive member within a predetermined range. A biasing member normally keeps the rotational position of the intermediate member relative to the drive member. The rotation of the drive member is transmitted to the intermediate member after the drive member is rotated relative to the intermediate member by a predetermined angle when the claw clutch is engaged by movement of the spindle through abutment of the bit on the work.

    • The present invention provides an improved cut-off machine wherein the length of an abrasive wheel in contact with a work is easily adjustable. The cut-off machine of the invention includes: a base with fixed and movable vises for clamping a work; a pair of joint members being supported by a pair of brackets projecting from the rear end of the base so as to pivotably move within a predetermined angle; an arm attached to the upper portion of the joint members; an abrasive wheel mounted on one end of the arm for cutting the work; a handle fixed to the arm for operating the arm; a motor attached to the arm for driving the abrasive wheel; and a compression spring spanned between the base and the arm. The upper mounting position of the compression spring on the arm is closer to the brackets, compared with the lower mounting position of the compression spring on the base. The reciprocating movement of the arm moves the abrasive wheel in the horizontal direction to the current optimal cutting position. Such reciprocating movement efficiently prevents undesirable loading of the abrasive wheel and increases the effective cutting width of the abrasive wheel, thus improving the cutting efficiency.

    • An image processing device may create corrected image data by correcting object image data by utilizing base image data. The image processing device may determine a first polar coordinate value which represents first pixels in the object image data, calculate a first orthogonal coordinate by executing an orthogonal transformation on the first polar coordinate value, determine a second polar coordinate value which represents second pixels in the base image data, calculate a second orthogonal coordinate value by executing an orthogonal transformation on the second polar coordinate value, and create the corrected image data by correcting the object image data such that a coordinate value of each particular pixel in the object image data approaches the second orthogonal coordinate value. The each particular pixel may be included in a surrounding area of the first orthogonal coordinate value.
