    • PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a support unit for a tunnel which is erected at the lower peripheral part of a ground which is apt to collapse in bedrock of an excavated wall face of a tunnel and by which a propulsive reaction for excavation of the tunnel can be securely obtained. SOLUTION: This support unit A, A' for a tunnel is constituted of forward and rearward arcuate steel members 1, 3 having a length equal with the arcuate length of the lower peripheral part of an excavated wall face of the tunnel, and a plurality of propulsive reaction-supporting steel members 2 which are interposed between the central parts and both side end parts in the peripheral direction of the tunnel in these forward and rearward arcuate steel members 1, 3 and long in the longitudinal direction of the tunnel to connect the forward and rearward arcuate steel members 1, 3. These support units A, A' and support units A, A' supporting the upper peripheral part of the excavated wall face of the tunnel are combined to form a supporting body. When a propulsive reaction can not be obtained by a rear gripper of a tunneling excavator, a thrusting jack 7 equipped in the tunneling excavator is brought into contact with the forward arcuate steel member 1 corresponding to the front end face of the propulsive reaction-supporting steel members 2 to obtain the propulsive reaction.

    • PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a timbering body, which can constitute simple timbering structure corresponding to a ground section, in which the collapse, etc., of a bedrock is easy to be generated, in a tunnel excavating wall surface and by which the execution of works having excellent accuracy corresponding to the degree of curvature of the excavated wall surface is carried out even to the excavated wall surface of a curved tunnel section. SOLUTION: A plurality of timbering units A, in which collapse preventive members 3 are lined among the outer circumferential surfaces of front-rear arcuate steel materials 1, 2 curved in an arcuate shape along a tunnel excavating wall surface, are connected in the tunnel peripheral direction, and the upper half section of the timbering body S timbering the upper peripheral section of the tunnel excavating wall surface, in which the collapse of a bedrock is easy to be generated, is constituted. The lower half section of the timbering body, in which the collapse preventive members are not line, is configured by coupling a plurality of arcuate steel-material single bodies B at both lower ends of the upper half section of the timbering body. The timbering body along the excavating wall surface of a curved tunnel section is executed by gradually narrowing width in the tunnel longitudinal direction between the front-rear arcuate steel-material single bodies B, B towards lower sections.
