    • PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To enlarge a space in the direction of radius at a segment supply part for a shield machine in small and medium diameter by a method wherein the position of the rotative center of a rotating body is offset toward a position above the center of axis of the shield machine. SOLUTION: A segment assembling device 1 of a shield machine 2 is composed of a rotating body 7 that executes clamping and assembling segment pieces 6 by operations of a clamping claws 7a and assembling mechanisms 7b and a segment supply device 8 that carries the segments pieces 6 from the rear part to the lower part of the rotating body 7. The rotative center 9 of the rotating body 7 is offset from the center of axis of the shield machine 2 toward the upside within the limits where interference with other devices is not made, and on assembling the segment pieces 6 stroke of the rotating body 7 is controlled so that the segment pieces 6 can be adjusted to run along the wall of a tunnel. Thereby, a space in the direction of radius at a segment supply part can be enlarged, and an insertion space can be ensured for the segment supply device 8 even though the shield machine 2 is in a structure of small and medium diameter.

    • PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To ensure mounting spaces of various devices at the rears of driving shafts for a cutter frame by installing a shaft section at a central section and a cylindrical section on the outer circumferential side as the driving shafts, connecting the shaft section and the cylindrical section by a flange section and constituting a shield machine and mounting a large-diameter bearing to the cylindrical section. SOLUTION: A center shaft 2 is arranged onto the central axis of a shield machine body 1, and a cutter frame 3 is cantilever-fixed to a front end section. The center shaft 2 is formed in a solid shape, and a shaft section 2a along the central axis and a circumferential section 2b are connected by a flange 2c. An external surface on the chamber 5 side of the flange section 2c and the external surface of the shaft section 2a are formed in a smoothly continuous curved shape. Chemical injection holes 7 are formed between the shaft section 2a and the flange section 2c, and chemical injection devices 8 are set up. A pinion 11 is engaged with a ring gear 9 consisting of the internal gears of the cylindrical section 2b, and driven by a motor 10. The center shaft 2 is supported to a cutter head support 13 through a large-diameter bearing 12 at the place of the ring gear 9, and a space is ensured at the rear of the shaft section 2a.

    • PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To eliminate the need of a buckling checking mechanism and reduce cycle time of back filling by separately forming a partition wall for longitudinally cutting off the internal space of a skin plate on an inner partition wall and an outer partition, and providing inner and outer turning jacks corresponding to the respective partition walls. SOLUTION: With an outer partition wall 14 pressed to an existing back filling material 19, an outer turning jack 16 is elongated to take reaction force in the existing back filling material 19, and an excavator main body 1 is advanced. Simultaneously while an inner partition wall 13 is pulled back by contraction of an inner turning jack 15, back filling material is injected between the inner partition wall 13 and the back filling material 19 through a back filling injection pipe 17. Accordingly, the advance of the excavator main body and injection of back filling material to the rear space of the partition wall are performed concurrently, so that the cycle time per one span can be reduced. Furthermore, as turning can be performed with the reaction force taken in the existing back filling material, it is not necessary to provide a buckling checking mechanism in the front of the partition wall.

    • PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To ensure the operation by arranging a cable drag chain which makes a folding back part movable in an annular space formed out of a cylindrical fixing body and a rotary body arranged coaxially with the fixing body and supporting an energy supply cable. SOLUTION: A storage and hold device is provided in an annular space part surrounded by an exterior wall 6 on a fixing body side of a shield machine and an interior wall 7 on a rotary body side of an elector turn ring attached in a concentric circle. One end of a supply cable 8 is connected with a take-out port 9 on the fixing body side and the other end thereof is connected to a take-out port 9' on the rotary body side. A cable having such length that it can move in a scope of a rotation angle is held by a cable drag chain 11 in a condition in which it is inverted in an inversion part A. An inner side of the cable drag chain 11 which is inverted is held by a core frame 16 through a roller. Consequently, it is possible to prevent hanging down due to the self- weight at all times when an elector turns clockwise and counterclockwise. Accordingly, it is possible to prevent danger of cutting, disconnection, and rupture of cables securely.

    • PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To enable a small-bore tunnel to be constructed so as to make the center line of it eccentric relative to the center line of a large-bore tunnel, and facilitate drilling of a tunnel according to the use, by bendingly executing a shield work so that the center line of a slave shield machine is aligned with the center line of the small-bore tunnel, before reaching the starting point of the slave shield machine. SOLUTION: A master shield machine 1 and a slave shield machine 2 are integratedly shielded, and a large-bore tunnel 17 is drilled along the center line C1 up to a little this side of the starting point of the slave shield machine 2. Next the shield machines are turned to the direction making a front shield eccentric relative to a rear shield, and after shielding by a fixed distance, they are turned so that the front shield is in the opposite direction, the center line C2 of the slave shield machine 2 is aligned with the center line C1 of the master/slave shield excavator, and then the slave machine 2 is started so as to drill a small-bore tunnel 18. Hereby a desired tunnel according to the utilization such as piping facilities of sewerage or a station of the subway can be drilled extremely easily.
