    • PURPOSE:To produce a round cast billet having only a little center segregation and inclusion in the cast billet by using method for stirring molten steel in a mold to circular direction with electromagnetic stirring device and controlling index of the stirring force with the electromagnetic stirring to the specific value range of Gauss.Hz . CONSTITUTION:In the electromagnetic stirring device setting at the mold and just below the mold, the index of the stirring force with the electromagnetic stirring is controlled to 500-800Gauss.Hz . Condition of the electromagnetic stirring is decided by the reason that flowing speed of the molten steel caused by electromagnetic force is in proportion to the electromagnetic force, that is, the index of the electromagnetic stirring force. When the stirring intensity is low, the deterioration of the center segregation and the blow hole under the surface skin are developed and when the stirring intensity is too strong, the increase of the negative segregation and of the inclusion caused by enclosure of mold powder are brought about. In the case of the stirring intensity in the range as the abovementioned, the round cast billet having excellent quality can be produced. By this method, the round bar having only a little center segregation, inclusion in the billet and blow hole under the surface skin can be obtd.

    • PURPOSE:To obtain a round-shape billet having only a little internal defect with continuous casting by solidifying molten steel in the hypo-peritectic range while pouring into polygonal mold and successively, executing rolling-reduction 1 under the specific condition with the rolling-reduction of arc-like metallic mold in the specific range of the solid phase ratio in axial center part in the cast billet.     • PURPOSE:To reduce the development of porous defect in an ingot by immediately adding electric conductive flux on upper surface of molten steel after casting the molten Cr-Mo steel having high Cr content into a horizontal rotating mold and electric-conducting and heating the top part of the ingot. CONSTITUTION:The mold 3 is set on a rotating base plate 4 and the molten high Cr-Mo steel containing 5-13wt.% Cr is cast into the mold 3 and just after that, the flux 2 is charged on the molten steel pool 5 and the electricity is conducted and heated with a graphite electrode 1. Then, at the initial stage of electric-conducting for heating, in order to prevent surface solidified skin of the molten steel, the charging power is regulated to the prescribed quantity, and after the initial stage, the charging power is increased by a little. Further, dipping depth of the electrode 1 into slag is increased to the suitable quantity, to increase molten steel supply into developing part of porous defect. By this method, dendritic structure in the molten steel is made to fine and also the development of the porous defect in the high Cr-Mo steel ingot is reduced.

    • PURPOSE:To prevent the erosion of a feeding head sleeve brick and to prevent the penetration of the molten steel of the feeding head part into the gap caused between a mold and steel ingot by arranging the sleeve protection ring dipping its lower part into a melted slug at the inner side of the feeding head sleeve brick. CONSTITUTION:After pouring a molten steel 7 a molten slug 8 is added thereon, the lower end part of an electrode 6 is dipped into the slug 8 and with its electrification the slug 8 is heated and subjected to a heat insulation. The molten slug located on the molten steel is easily penetrated into the gap of the sleeve brick 4 and ring 5. The slug located in the gap of the sleeve brick 4 and ring 5 is cooled by the both parts of the brick 4 and ring 5 besides having no flow, reaching to be solidified. The slug 8 coming into contact with the ring 5 is cooled to form the protection layer of the ring 5. The molten steel coming into contact with the brick 4 forms as well as solidified shell on the feeding head part. In this way, it is easily solidified even at the time when the molten steel is flowed into the gap of the slug and solidified shell at the solidification contraction time of the steel ingot and the flow of the molten steel into the gap of the mold and steel ingot is prevented.
