    • PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain a material for repairing the carbonization chamber of a coke oven, which exhibits excellent adhesivity even on a recessed part having large difference in height and forms a smooth repaired surface in a repairing method with which a recessed part occurring on a furnace wall surface and a furnace bottom surface in the carbonization chamber of a coke oven is repaired by a contact bonding of a ceramic material. SOLUTION: The material for repairing the carbonization chamber of a coke oven is a kneaded material of dry mortar, wet mortar, ceramic fiber and water. The dry mortar is obtained by mixing coarse particle mortar having 1-10 mm particle diameter with minute particle mortar having 2 and 50-60 mass% of Al 2 O 3 . The repairing material is preferably used in a method for repairing the carbonization chamber of a coke oven, with which the repairing material is stuck fast to an uneven surface occurring on the surface of the structure of the carbonization chamber of a coke oven under pressure to form a smooth surface on the structure.
