    • PURPOSE:To enable shifted coupling of a control rod guide tube from a control rod insertion hole by forming a step between a control column upper neutron shielding body and a core column upper shielding body and making the upper end part of a control guide tube movable. CONSTITUTION:A stepped part 25 having a taper 26 is formed between a control rod column upper neutron shielding body 22 and a fuel column upper neutron shielding body 23. A fitting member 28 fitted in a hexagonal recess 27 formed by the stepped part 25 is provided to bundle a plurality of guide tubes 21 on the lower part of a control rod guide tube 21. A circular support plate 29 which also serves as a spacer is provided on the upper end of the guide tube 21. The support plate 29 is housed and held in a cylinder frame 30 provided on the lower part of a guide tube support member 24 and thereby the guide tube 21 is held movably upward and downward, horizontally. Thereby, even if there is a little shift between the axes of the guide tube 21 and the control rod insertion hole 20, they can be connected each other and excess stress doe snot occur in the guide tube 21.

    • PURPOSE:To prevent the degradation in the life of the control rods by an excess stress and plastic strain by integrally forming spacer pads having a regular polygonal shape on the outer peripheral surface of an outer cladding pipe by chipping the outer cladding pipe. CONSTITUTION:The spacer pads 11 constituting the regular polygonal shape for maintaining control rod elements 1 at the center of a control rod insertion hole are integrally formed on the outer peripheral surface of the outer cladding pipe 6 by chipping the outer cladding pipe 6. Although the control rods causes swelling (volumetric expansion) when subjected to the irradiation of high-flux neutrons in a reactor, the spacer pads 11 for maintaining the control rod elements 1 at the center of the control rod insertion hole are integrally formed to the outer cladding pipe 6 by chipping the pipe and, therefore, even if the control rods are subjected to the irradiation of the neutrons of the high flux, the generation of the stresses by a difference in the swelling rate in the periphery of the spacer pads 11 is obviated. Even if the control rods receive the severe heat excess of a large difference in temp., the material strength is stable and, therefore, the generation of the plastic strains in the periphery of the spacer pads 11 is obviated. The life of the control rods is, therefore, improved.

      SOLUTION: The thermoelectric generator includes high-temperature members 3 having high-temperature medium passages, low-temperature members 4 having low-temperature medium passages, thermoelectric transducers 2 which are interposed between the high-temperature members and the low-temperature members and convert thermal energy to electric energy, the thermal energy being generated by a temperature difference between a high-temperature medium supplied to the high-temperature medium passage and a low-temperature medium supplied to the low-temperature medium passage, an annular frame 7 enclosing the high-temperature members and the low-temperature members via an elastic member for absorbing thermal expansion, a pressing member for pressing the frame from the outside, and a pressure adjusting member for adjusting the pressure of the pressing member.
