    • The invention proceeds from a system for considering differing amounts of components for determining at least one control quantity such as for controlling the operation of a motor vehicle. Such a system is known from the state of the art wherein a value is determined as a control quantity for the adaptive transmission control. This value characterizes the type of driver or the driving style. At least two different supply objects (for example, start-up evaluation, gradient evaluation) are provided with the aid of which, for each case, a component for determining the control quantity is determined. The determined components are then supplied to at least one collector which forms the evaluation quantity, for example, by maximum formation, weighted and/or moving-window sum formation of the individually determined components. The essence of the invention is that means are provided with which the supply of the components of the supply objects is controlled to the collector. With the system of the invention, it is possible in a simple manner to adapt the number of components, which are to be considered for the formation of the evaluation quantity, to the particular situation.

    • A system for adjusting a transmission ratio for a transmission built into a motor vehicle. Selection devices actuable by the driver of the vehicle are provided. With these selection devices, the driver can pregive pulses to change the transmission ratio. In a first component object, the pulse processing, pulses are detected whereupon in a second component object, the counter, count values are determined and stored in dependence upon valid pulses. In a third component object, the switch request, shift requests are determined in dependence upon count values and while considering pregivable peripheral conditions. The transmission ratio is adjusted in dependence upon the shift requests. With the defined interfaces of the objects, the exchangeability thereof is made possible whereby especially a reuse of the software is facilitated.

    • The invention is directed to a system for determining the changes in gear ratio for an automatic transmission of a vehicle. Such an automatic transmission can be a fully automatic shifting step transmission or a known continuously variable transmission or an automated manual shift transmission. For determining the changes in gear ratio, a detection device for detecting the vehicle road speed and a determination device for determining the gear ratio changes of the automatic transmission are provided at least in dependence upon a first adaptation quantity. The essence of the invention is that the first adaptation quantity is determined from a time-dependent trace of the road speed of the vehicle. With the system, information is provided as to whether the vehicle is, at a particular point in time, in city traffic (low vehicle speed), on a country road (average vehicle speed) or on an expressway (high vehicle speed). This data is obtained in a simple manner via an evaluation of the trace of the road speed.
