摘要： PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To quickly thaw or sublimate snow, and easily eliminate snow by surrounding solid-phase water with an airtight enclosure and decompressing within the enclosure. SOLUTION: An open part of a rubber bag 15 is attached to the lower end of an annular frame 12, and an open/close cover 11 is fitted to the upper part of the annular frame 12, thereby forming a sealed vessel. The side wall of the annular frame 12 is fitted with a conduit tube 17 having one end open to the inside of the frame 12 and the other end connected to a vacuum pump 16. Snow or ice is supplied to the rubber bag 15 and the open/close cover is closed, thereby being sealed between the cover and the annular fame 12. Then, the vacuum pump 16 is operated to evacuate and keep the sealed vessel in a vacuum condition. As a result, when the sealed vessel is internally decompressed, the atmosphere pushes and compresses the flexible rubber bag 15, and crushes the snow inside. In this case, a solid-phase easily changes to a gaseous-phase or liquid-phase, due to decompression, and vapors are discharged through the vacuum pump 16. Also, water stagnating in the rubber bag 12 is discharged by opening a valve 18 after stopping the operation of the vacuum pump 16 and making the internal pressure of the rubber bag 15 equal to the atmospheric pressure. According to this construction, solid-phase water can be efficiently eliminated.

摘要： PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To recover crude oil, etc., flowed out into sea water by scattering the hydrophilic colloidal solution of natural-rubber latex and a high-molecular emulsion and a coagulant such as magnesium chloride, calcium chloride, etc., and forming a coagulated latex film. SOLUTION: Latex and a coagulant are scattered separately into water containing oil and diffused around oil, and a coagulated latex film is formed and recovered. Synthetic-rubber latex and a hydrophilic high-molecular emulsion such as polyvinyl acetate may also be used besides natural-rubber latex as latex. Polyvalent metallic ions, an organic acid, etc., are employed as the coagulant, but magnesium chloride and calcium chloride are most preferable. Oil is taken in by using a lipophilic high-molecular emulsion in oil adhering on a rock, etc., coagulated, gelled and recovered. The nonyl phenol ether, etc., of an emulsifier are added to the natural-rubber latex as the lipophilic high- molecular emulsion. Accordingly, oil flowed out into the sea, etc., and oil adhering on the surfaces of the rock, etc., can be recovered simply.

摘要： The invention provides a negative regulator of ethylene biosynthesis in plants, which is embodied by ETHYLENE-OVERPRODUCER1 (ETO1) , a recessive gene, which controls the expression of the synthesis of the plant hormone ethylene. ETO1 is a member of a novel gene family, which is highly conserved in the plant kingdom, and which is unique in that it comprises both BTB and TPR domains. Two-hybrid experiments, together with in vitro binding experiments and double mutant analyses in planta revealed direct interaction of ETO1 with 1-aminocyclopropane-1-carboxylate synthase (ACS), a key enzyme of ethylene biosynthesis. Furthermore, functional assay in E. coli showed that members of the related ETO1-LIKE (EOL) proteins also significantly inhibit ethylene biosynthesis. Thus, the invention further provides methods of controlling, regulating and modulating ethylene biosynthesis in plants, plant cells, and the like.

摘要： PURPOSE:To eliminate bad smell of a ginseng and obtain a readily drinkable ginseng vinegar, by adding a powdered ginseng and perfume to an alcoholic solution containing an added natural fruit juice containing citric acid and dissolving and incorporating drug effect components thereof in the solution. CONSTITUTION:A natural concentrated fruit juice, e.g. lemon, containing citric acid is added to an alcoholic drink, e.g. SHOCHU (low-class distilled spirit), to prepare a weakly acidic alcoholic solution with 25 deg. alcohol content at about 3 pH. About 500g powdery ginseng is then mixed in 10l alcoholic solution and about 200g fennel, about 100g clove and about 100g Japanese cinnamon as perfumes are mixed. The resultant alcoholic solution containing the above- mentioned materials is allowed to stand for about 1 month to age the ginseng and perfumes, etc., and drug effect components are dissolved and contained in the alcoholic solution. The ginseng vinegar thus obtained holds drug effect components, e.g. stomachic agent, etc.
