    • A driving apparatus for driving a plasma display panel and a method of driving the same are disclosed. The plasma display panel includes multiple display cells, with each of the display cells comprising a sustain electrode, a scan electrode, and a data electrode. Every set of the electrodes has a corresponding driving circuit to provide a required driving waveform for driving the display cell to luminesce. The driving method includes the following steps: first, a first erase pulse, a priming pulse, and a second erase pulse are applied in sequence during a reset period. Then, data pulses corresponding to the display cells are applied during an address period. Lastly, multiple sustain pulses and multiple high frequency driving pulses are applied simultaneously during a sustain period.

    • A driving method for driving a plasma display unit of a plasma display panel. The plasma display unit includes two electrodes, and the plasma display unit is filled with ionized gas. A driving circuit drives the ionized gas back and forth between the two electrodes to cause the plasma display panel to emit light. The driving circuit includes a rating source receiver and an energy-storing current source whereby the rating source receiver is able to receive and supply a rating current. The driving method first involves the rating source receiver charging. A first electric potential difference thus occurs between the two electrodes of the plasma display unit to allow the ionized gas within the plasma display unit to discharge. While the ionized gas is discharging, the plasma display unit is supplied with a compensation current to prevent an electric potential difference drop.

    • A plasma display panel includes a rear plate, a front plate formed parallel with and spaced apart from the rear plate, a plurality of electrode pairs, and a plurality of data electrodes. Each electrode pair includes a first transparent electrode and a second transparent electrode formed in parallel on a bottom surface of the front plate. Each data electrode is formed in parallel on a top surface of the rear plate and is orthogonal to each electrode pair. A plurality of display cells is defined at an intersection of each data electrode and each electrode pair. The plurality of display cells include at least a first display cell, a second display cell, and a third display cell for displaying three different colors.
