    • PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To solve such a problem that, in a magnetic memory device by a conventional micro assist recording method, when a high-frequency magnetic field oscillation element is kept in an operating state in reproducing or seeking information, the information is often lost or rewritten according to external environment.SOLUTION: The magnetic memory device includes: a magnetic recording medium; a microwave assist magnetic recording head having at least recording magnetic poles for generating a recording magnetic field for writing in the magnetic recording medium, and a high-frequency magnetic field oscillation element for generating a high-frequency magnetic field; a magnetic reproduction head for reading information from the magnetic recording medium; signal processing means for processing a signal that the magnetic recording head writes and a signal that the magnetic reproduction head reads; and means for controlling clearance between a high-frequency magnetic field oscillator and the magnetic recording medium. The magnetic high-frequency magnetic field oscillation element is prevented from operating during a time other than a time of recording.

    • PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain a highly stable magnetic disk device using a perpendicular recording magnetic head which is manufactured so as not to be affected by the external magnetic field.
      SOLUTION: A shield 15 for the external magnetic field is formed from a main magnetic electrode 12 with a gap film interposed therebetween, and its end part is arranged so as to retreat from the surface 14 opposite to a medium. The influence of the external magnetic field 16 is suppressed by providing the shield 15 for the external magnetic field, and further the leakage of the magnetic field to the medium 1 from the shield 15 for external magnetic field is prevented by making the end part retreat from the surface 14 opposite to the medium so that the erase of a magnetizing signal 4 does not occur.
