    • PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To realize an outdoor unit for air condition of a multi-package, more suitable for suppressing enlargement of the device while securing a predetermined heat exchange area. SOLUTION: The outdoor unit for air condition is provided with a casing 12, a heat exchanger 14 arranged in a circumferential side part of the casing 12, an axial fan 18 arranged facing an air exhaust port 16 formed on a top part of the casing 12, and a base plate part 20 provided in a base part of the casing 12. The base plate part 20 has an arrangement face 22 mounted with apparatuses, and a stepped part 24 protruding from a rim part of the arrangement face 22 toward a casing 12 side to be used as a seat part supporting a lower rim part of the heat exchanger 14, and a hole 26 for tube arrangement is formed in the stepped part 24.     • PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an outdoor unit of an air conditioner excelling in strength of a housing, cost reduction, energy saving and noise reduction. SOLUTION: The outdoor unit 1 of the air conditioner comprises the housing 2 having suction openings formed on a back face and both side faces, and a supply opening formed its top face, an axial fan disposed on a top face portion of the housing 2, and an approximately U-shaped heat exchanger disposed along the suction openings. A framework of the each side face of the housing 2 comprises a square-shaped side frame member obtained by connecting end portions of a side upper member 109, a side lower member 100, a side front member 101 and a side rear member 102, and a reinforcement member 201 disposed in a state of connecting diagonal portions of the side frame member. Each of the suction openings of both side faces of the housing 2 is formed to have a ventilation area of a size more than a half of each side face, from a rear portion to a front portion, and both side portions of the heat exchanger 501 have a ventilation area of a size more than a half of each side face so that it reaches a front portion along each of the suction openings of both side faces of the housing 2.
