    • PURPOSE:To expand an input rage even if a highly accurate resistor is not used for the resistor constituting a digital/analog converter (DAC) by compensating the dispersion of the DAC through a microcompter. CONSTITUTION:The input range is expanded by making the minimum bit of the DAC equal to or smaller than the full scale of an analog/digital converter (ADC) through the microcomputer. By controlling the output voltage VDAC of the DAC 50 through the microcomputer system (MSC) 8, the input of the ADC 7 can be converted into a digital value within the full scale and input voltage VIN less than the voltage VREF of a reference power supply 10 can be converted into a digital value by the ADC 7. The converted results can be fetched to the MCS 8 easily. Consequently, the input range can be expanded up to the number that the output status of the DAC 50 is held at maximum. When the DAC is 2-bit constitution e.g., the input range can be expanded by four times.

Here, borosilicate glass or the like is used for the thin film 9, which film is coupled to the chip 7 and the base 8 by impressing a voltage while the temperature is kept at about 400 deg.C. When the chip 7 is thus supported with the base 8, the change of characteristics due to thermal stress is prevented.
