    • A remote access system comprises a remote terminal, an access server accommodating a connection from the remote terminal, and first and second logical channels logically connecting the remote terminal and the access server. The remote terminal comprises a flow search processing unit that classifies flows. The access server comprises a pass determining unit that determines whether a flow can pass or not, and a flow search processing unit that classifies flows. The first logical channel is used to transfer packets included in a flow that needs to be judged by the access server as to whether it can pass or not. The second logical channel is used to transfer packets included in a flow that has been permitted by the access server to pass.

A font data memory unit stores font data which contains a plurality of font records each containing font information for displaying a character and line feed control information for controlling line feed conducted before and/or after the character. A character string display unit displays a character string based on the font information relevant to all or some of the plurality of font records. A line feed control unit determines a line feed position in the character string being displayed by the character string display unit based on line feed control information relevant to characters included in the character string.

    • In data processing of network traffic (a communication amount), relay processing is distributed in a wide area. Specifically, an application switch system which controls a connection between a plurality of client terminals and a plurality of servers, is provided with at least one switch, a relay unit configured to perform protocol relays; and a controller. The controller is provided with a section for performing a centralized control on a route table used to determine a destination in the switch; a section for controlling relay processing of the relay unit; a section for selecting one server as a connection destination from the plurality of servers; a section for selecting a route which links between one client terminal of the plurality of client terminals and the selected server, and which contains the relay unit, and for setting the selected route to the route table in the switch; and a section for setting relay information used when the relay unit performs the protocol relay, to the relay unit.
