CONSTITUTION:The water heater 1 comprises the hot water storage tank 2 for room heating, the sealed type pressure resistant hot water storage tank 3 arranged within the tank 2, a heat exchanger 4 and a main heater 5. The tank 3 and the heat exchanger 4 for heating hot water stored in the tank 3 are arranged above the main heater 5. When the temperature of the heat exchanger 4 goes high enough to heat water for a hot water supply, cold water is supplied to a water inlet port 9 of the heat exchanger 4 automatically by the operation of a control device and the water exchanges heat with the hot water in the hot water storage tank 2 while it reaches a hot water outlet port 10 so that the temperature of the water elevates and is supplied into the pressure resistant hot water storage tank 3 as hot water through a hot water supply pipe 11. Then, when the pressure in the tank 3 becomes equal to the pressure of water at the water outlet port 9, the supply of water is automatically stopped. Accordingly, the tank 3 is always filled with hot water and the required quantity of hot water is automatically supplied without the necessity of using any motive power.

    • NEW MATERIAL:A substance active as nerve-growing factor (NGF); a white powder; soluble in water; molecular weight; 12400 and 11600 (by the SDS-gel electrophoresis), 18000 and 12600 (by the gel filtration); aminoacid analyses: shown in the table; showing no immunological cross-over reaction with mouse β- NGF antiserum prepared from rabbit; the concentration giving the maximum growth of nerve fiber in egg ganglions: 1.0mg/ml.
      USE: A substance growing nerves.
      PREPARATION: Gradulas submandibularis or grandulas protstatica of Suncus murinus are homogenized in water, centrifuged and the surpernatant is freeze dried. The product is dissolved in a buffer solution and fractionated by means of column chromatography. Each fraction is examined on its absorption and NGF activity and the active fractions are dialyzed with a buffer solution and centrifuged. The resultant supernatant is controlled in pH and subjected to column chromatography again, eluted under salt concentration gredient. The fractions showing NGF activity are concentrated, further subjected to column chromatography to isolate and purify the substance with NGF activity.

    • PURPOSE:To improve the heat efficiency of the whole of a hot water supply system by a method in which the overflow portion of hot water heated in a hot water supplyer is directly utilized in the supply of hot water without returning it to the water supply tank. CONSTITUTION:Water supplied to a heat exchanger 29 for faucet through a water supply line (c) is heat-exchanged with hot water stored in the hot water storage tank 31 of a water boiler 15 to heat up to 70-80 deg.C, and the hot water is supplied to the hot water storage tank 35 for faucet. The hot water stored in the tank 35 is further heated due to contact with the hot water in the main boiler 31 of the water boiler 15 and the tank 31 with minimized heat loss and without lowering of the temperature of the hot water so heated. The hot water from the tank 35 is sent through a hot water supply line (e) to the faucet 21 of bath room and a hot water regulator 37 for shower and hot water of an adequate temperature is sent from the regulator 37 to the shower 27.
