    • A photoconductor drum cleaning apparatus in an electrophotographic printer is disclosed which is simple in makeup, which allows a wiping roll to be rotated to follow rotation of the photoconductor drum is rotated and to be serviced for a prolonged life and is capable of performing an improved cleaning operation. To this end, the photoconductor drum 1 comprises: disposed in order from upstream in the direction of the photoconductor drum, a blade scraper 11 contacting with the surface of the rotating photoconductor drum and a wiping roll 12 rotating reversely in rubbing contact with the surface of the rotating photoconductor drum; disposed upstream of an area of rubbing contact of the rotating wiping roll with the photoconductor drum, a squeezing roll 13 rotating normally in pressure contact with the surface of the rotating wiping roll; and disposed downstream of an area of rubbing contact of the rotating wiping roll with the photoconductor drum and upstream of the rotating squeeze roll, a brush roll 14 rotating normally or reversely in pressure contact with the surface of the rotating wiping roll, the brush roll having a portion of its outer periphery immersed in a cleaning carrier solution.

    • The present invention is directed to provide an etching agent for a semiconductor substrate, which is capable of etching a titanium (Ti)-based metal film or a tungsten (W)-based metal film on a semiconductor substrate and an etching method using relevant etching agent, and relates to a liquid for preparing the etching agent for a semiconductor substrate composed of a solution comprising (A) hydrogen peroxide, (B) a phosphonic acid chelating agent having a hydroxyl group, (C) a basic compound, and (D-1) a copper anticorrosive and/or (D-2) 0.01 to 3% by weight of two or more kinds of anion species other than phosphonic acid chelating agents having a hydroxyl group, in which anion species have no oxidizing power, an etching method characterized by etching a titanium (Ti)-based metal film or a tungsten (W)-based metal film on a semiconductor substrate using relevant etching agent for a semiconductor substrate, further, a solution comprising (B) a phosphonic acid chelating agent having a hydroxyl group, (C) a basic compound, and (D-1) a copper anticorrosive and/or (D-2) anion species other than phosphonic acid chelating agents having a hydroxyl group, in which anion species have no oxidizing power.

    • A protection data control unit is provided for a cache control unit. In the writing operation to write user data from an upper apparatus into a cache memory, protection data is formed on a data block unit basis of the user data and written into the cache memory.
