    • A hand-held working tool has a housing and an internal combustion engine arranged in the housing and comprising a crankshaft and an air filter. A tool is driven by the crankshaft of the internal combustion engine. A fan housing is attached to the engine housing and has an air inlet. A fan wheel is arranged in the fan housing and is driven by the crankshaft of the internal combustion engine to supply cooling air, sucked in through the air inlet, to the internal combustion engine. The fan housing has a bottom extending radially to the crankshaft. The bottom and a side of the fan wheel facing the bottom define a chamber in the fan housing. The bottom has a combustion air outlet. A combustion air channel is connected to the combustion air outlet and to the air filter. The combustion air outlet is axially supplying combustion air from the chamber through the combustion air channel into the air filter of internal combustion engine. The fan housing has a channel wall having a bottom portion connected to the face of the bottom remote from the fan wheel and covering the bottom partially to form a double-walled bottom. The end face portion of the combustion air channel is defined by the bottom and the bottom portion of the channel wall. In an alternative embodiment the combustion air channel is provided in a hollow beam of a support that supports the drive unit of the working tool.

    • The invention directed to a portable handheld drilling apparatus for receiving and driving a drill which can encounter a drilling resistance during a drilling operation thereby causing the drilling apparatus to undergo an unwanted rotational movement. The drilling apparatus of the invention includes: a handle for holding by an operator while performing the drilling operation; a drive motor; a transmission for driving the drill; a centrifugal clutch assembly mounted between the drive motor and the transmission; a brake device movable between an inactive position and a braking position; a trigger lever movable between a first position wherein the trigger lever is at rest and a second position; the trigger lever being operatively connected to the brake device so as to trip the brake device into the braking position when the trigger lever moves from the first position into the second position; and, an actuating device for acting upon the trigger lever to cause the trigger lever to move into the second position when the unwanted rotational movement exceeds a pregiven limit value.

    • The invention is directed to a braking arrangement for a chain saw having a housing and a guide bar mounted on the housing for accommodating a saw chain thereon. The brake arrangement includes a brake drum operatively connected to the saw chain with a brake band disposed in surrounding relationship thereto. A brake member is connected to the brake band and moves between a ready position whereat the brake band is disposed in spaced relationship to the brake drum and a released position whereat the brake band is drawn tightly around the brake drum. A brake spring resiliently biases the brake member to cause the brake member to pull the brake band tightly about the brake drum when in the released position. A latch arrangement holds the brake member in the ready position against the force of the brake spring. A cam connected to the drive motor rotates through a predetermined path. A release device opens the latch arrangement to permit rotational movement of the brake member to the released position and releases a tensioning member for movement into the path of the cam when the brake member is in the second position whereat the tensioning member follows the cam in a movement that causes the tensioning member to again coact with the latch arrangement to return the brake member to the ready position and to reclose the latch arrangement whereby the latter again holds the brake member in the ready position against the force of the brake spring.

    • A diaphragm carburetor for a combustion engine having a manual starter has a housing and a control chamber arranged in the housing and filled with fuel. A suction channel is arranged in the housing and has a venturi section. A throttle flap is rotatably supported in the suction channel downstream of the venturi section in the flow direction of combustion air sucked into the suction channel. A main valve path connects a control chamber to the venturi section. An idle valve path connects the control chamber to the suction channel and opens into the suction channel at a location downstream of the throttle flap in the flow direction. A choke flap is rotatably supported in the suction channel and positioned upstream of the venturi section. The choke flap has identical cold start and warm start positions and allows a flow volume of combustion air into the suction channel sustaining engine operation after the engine has been started.

    • An arrangement for decanting liquids includes a tubular-shaped support (1) having a flow channel (2). The flow channel (2) is blocked by a valve plate (3) which is coupled via axial connecting elements (4, 4′) to the relative movement of an inner sleeve (5) and an outer sleeve (6) of the support (1). The outer sleeve (6) lies in overlapment and the axial connecting elements (4, 4′) extend into the interior of the support. The valve plate (3) can be lifted from its valve seat against a spring force engaging at the inner sleeve (5) and at the outer sleeve (6). A radial flange collar (13) is formed on the outer sleeve (6). To ensure an accurate metering at the highest possible volume flow of the discharged liquid at low manufacturing costs, the valve plate (3) is mounted at a free end (9) of the support (1) and the axial connecting elements are configured as tension rods (4, 4′) and are arranged next to an edge of the valve plate (3).
