    • PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method of controlling an opening/closing body for a vehicle, which can suppress high-speed movement of the opening/closing body at the time of slant parking of the vehicle, and prevents a battery from running out. SOLUTION: According to the method, an electromagnetic clutch is arranged between a motor and a sliding door, and the sliding door is set immovable by a motor-side worm gear mechanism with the clutch assuming a connected state at the time of halting opening/closing operation of the door, followed by disconnecting the clutch after the lapse of a predetermined time period. When the sliding door is moved, the clutch is set in a connected state and its connection force is decreased. In this manner the clutch can slide by maintaining its connection force in a low level, and therefore the sliding door can be moved at a low speed. Thus even if the sliding door is moved in a self-weight falling direction at the time of parking on a slope, its moving speed is low, which brings the feel of safety to the user.     • PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an automatic opening/closing device for a vehicle, which can prevent a pinch by a sliding door that carries out opening operation with its door glass kept open, to thereby enhance the safety thereof. SOLUTION: The sliding door having the openable door glass is automatically opened/closed by the opening/closing device driven by an electric motor as a driving source. When the door glass is opened at a predetermined opening or more, the movable range of the sliding door is limited to an intermediate location by a stopper. When the load of the electric motor for driving the sliding door assumes a pinch determination value or more, detection of a pinch is determined, and therefore the sliding door carries out pinch avoiding operation. When the door glass is kept open, if the sliding door approaches the intermediate location to an extent that is within an operation inhibited range, detection of the pinch is once inhibited.
