    • PURPOSE:To enhance the efficiency of measuring work, by arranging an adhered clad removing mechanism combining fuel channel box (CB) holding function to the CB insert upper position of an oxide film measuring mechanism. CONSTITUTION:A measuring apparatus 10 is constituted of a frame 11, a guide mechanism 12, a clad removing mechanism 13 and the oxide film measuring mechanism 14 arranged to said mechanism 13 on the lower part side thereof. The upper part of the frame is mounted on the curved part of the wall of a used fuel storage pool 15. CB 3 to be measured is inserted in the measuring apparatus 10 through the guide mechanism 12 by a fuel grasping apparatus. Subsequently, when CB 3 passes the removing mechanism 13, the clad adhered to CB 3 is removed by the brush pressed to the surface of CB 3 by a spring. Therefore, the oxide film measuring area of CB 3 inserted up to the position of the measuring mechanism 14 becomes a clad removed state. Next, an eddy current probe is pressed to the measuring area by a remote drive mechanism subjected to remote operation on a floor to measure the oxide film of CB 3.

    • PURPOSE:To surely support fuel rods in radial direction and to facilitate the production of a fuel spacer by improving and setting the structure and function of a looped spring supporting part of a cylindrical body constituting the fuel spacer. CONSTITUTION:A cylindrical member 11 has a C-shaped aperture 15 on the side wall thereof and is formed with a projecting piece 16 which is inserted into the looped spring 14 by the formation of the aperture to support the spring. The projecting piece 16 acts as a spring supporting part and the position X where the projecting piece 16 begins to bend toward the outer side of the cylindrical member 11 intrudes toward the side wall of the cylindrical member 11 from the position of a stopper part 17A in a part of the side wall of the aperture 15 in a circumferential direction. Such formation is enabled by provision of notches 18A, 18B and since the inlet parts of the notches 18A, 18B are narrow in width, the spring 14 cannot pass these parts. The movement of the spring 14 in the circumferential direction of the cylindrical member 11 is limited by the above-mentioned structure and, therefore, the fuel rods are surely supported in a radial direction. Since the position of the projecting piece 16 and the position X are sufficiently apart, the fuel spacer is easily produced.
