摘要： A nuclear fuel assembly has fuel rods (5) and a lower tie plate (3) supporting their lower ends. Coolant apertures (9, 21-24) extending through the upper face of the tie plate and a channel box (17) surrounds the fuel rods to confine coolant. To restrict leakage of coolant between the channel box and the lower tie plate, the coolant apertures in the tie plate comprise a plurality of first apertures (21) distributed in a first area spaced from the periphery of the upper face, and a plurality of second apertures (22,23,24) smaller in cross-section than said first apertures (21) and distributed in a second area surrounded by the first area. The sizes and spacings of said first and second apertures are such that the open area ratio of the first area is substantially larger than the open area ratio of said second area. The invention also provides venturis in the leakage path between the channel box and the tie plate, to restrict deformation of the tie plate.

摘要： A fuel assembly comprises a plurality of fuel rods, a lower tie plate for supporting lower ends of the fuel rods, and a channel box surrounding a bundle of the fuel rods and the circumference of the lower tie plate to thereby define a cooling water leak passage between the lower tie plate and the channel box. The fuel assembly includes a venturi provided in the lower tie plate for generating a force tending to attract the channel box toward the lower tie plate under the action of a leak stream of the cooling water passing through the cooling water leak passage. The fuel assembly also includes an arrangement provided in the lower tie plate for suppressing vibrations of the channel box caused upon an influence of the venturi.

摘要： PURPOSE:To surely support fuel rods in radial direction and to facilitate the production of a fuel spacer by improving and setting the structure and function of a looped spring supporting part of a cylindrical body constituting the fuel spacer. CONSTITUTION:A cylindrical member 11 has a C-shaped aperture 15 on the side wall thereof and is formed with a projecting piece 16 which is inserted into the looped spring 14 by the formation of the aperture to support the spring. The projecting piece 16 acts as a spring supporting part and the position X where the projecting piece 16 begins to bend toward the outer side of the cylindrical member 11 intrudes toward the side wall of the cylindrical member 11 from the position of a stopper part 17A in a part of the side wall of the aperture 15 in a circumferential direction. Such formation is enabled by provision of notches 18A, 18B and since the inlet parts of the notches 18A, 18B are narrow in width, the spring 14 cannot pass these parts. The movement of the spring 14 in the circumferential direction of the cylindrical member 11 is limited by the above-mentioned structure and, therefore, the fuel rods are surely supported in a radial direction. Since the position of the projecting piece 16 and the position X are sufficiently apart, the fuel spacer is easily produced.
