    • PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To improve the accuracy of securing an optical semiconductor element on a mount board to be mounted with an optical element in the direction of bonding, and prevent a metal alloy for bonding from flowing out to the light receiving surface or light emitting surface of the semiconductor element, by forming a step on the mount board in the position where the optical semiconductor element is to be secured. SOLUTION: A terrace 4 is formed on a silicon substrate 3 by etching, and a lower clad layer is formed. The lower clad layer is polished to the level of the terrace 4, and then a core layer is deposited. A pattern is formed, and recesses 5 of step structure, a waveguide 8 and a mating mark 7 are formed. An upper clad layer is formed, and then the terrace 4 is exposed. An optical semiconductor element 1 is fixed on the terrace 4 for alignment. Because of the presence of the recesses 5 for joining, a metal alloy film 6 for bonding stays within the recesses 5, and is prevented from flowing out to the end faces of semiconductor elements to be mounted. The semiconductor elements 2 are secured in an element mounting sections, and are connected with each other using a gold wire.

    • PURPOSE:To form a film free from coloration at a relatively low temperature in a short time and suppress the influence applied to a substrate, color filter, transparent electrode, etc. and improve reliability by using the polyamide resin having specific repetitive units for the orientation control film. CONSTITUTION:The orientation control film of a liquid crystal element is constituted of the polyamide resin having the repetitive unit shown by the formula I. In the formula I, R' is a bivalent residual group which is the result of removing the amino group from diamine. R is the straight chained or branched chained alkyl group having the number of carbon atoms of 1 - 30. This polyamide polymer can not be dissolved in liquid crystal and water, and this polymer is dissolved into a specific solvent, and applied on a substrate, and after heating drying, the orientation control film is obtained after rubbing. Accordingly, coloration is prevented, and the film having a high strength can be prepared at a relatively low temperature in a short time, and no influence is given to the substrate, color filter, transparent electric conductive film, etc., and the superior contrast and visual characteristic can be obtained without reducing yield, and the liquid crystal display element having the reliability for a long period free from the generation of the orientation disorder even after the heat treatment for a long period can be obtained.

The height that a ferrule is inserted into a sleeve 18 is controlled by the meshing 13. Also, a taper 15 is formed in the spring contact part of the plug (connector) side. The precision of an inserting position is relaxed by the taper 15 and also the force of a spring is controlled by forming the taper 15 into a suitable shape.
