摘要： Between the two facing, transparent electrodes is enclosed a nematic liquid crystal layer both electrodes being current supplied and the electric field providing a dynamic dispersion in the liquid crystal. Devices on the substrate plates provide for reflection and/or transmission of the liquid crystal dispersed light. Yellow and yellow-orange light is reflected while the remaining light is permitted to pass through. Transmitted light reaches the substrate plate covered pref. with a layer of lacquer so that all colours between blue and purple are reflected. Additionally, a hook may be used on the calculator to prevent reflections of light from external sources.

摘要： PURPOSE:To prevent a crack from generating in the first enclosure owing to the position deviation of a pellet and to improve the yield and the reliability by providing a second enclosure to position the pellet in the interior of the first enclosure surrounding the pellet and the electrodes. CONSTITUTION:When the interior of an enclosure 4 in an assembled unit is decompressed and the enclosure 4 and a pellet positioning body 5 are heat-fused in a sealing surface, the enclosure 4 and the glass material constituting the pellet positioning body 5 are mutually formed integrally to become a completely integrated sealing body 4a and are fusion-welded with electrodes 2 and 3. Then, the sealing body 4a is deformed on the pellet side to cover the pellet surfers, whereby the pellet 1 and the electrodes 2 and 3 are completely sealed in the sealing body 4a. Moreover, as the position of the pellet 1 to the electrodes 2 and 3 is securely maintained at the center parts of the electrodes 2 and 3 by the action of the pellet positioning body 5, the pellet 1 can be prevented from protruding from the electrodes 2 and 3 to the width direction.
