    • PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To regulate the vibration of a tail part which is a suspension extended part in a magnetic head assembly, and to secure a mechanical strength for the tail part.
      SOLUTION: This magnetic head assembly is provided with a magnetic head 2 for recording/reproducing information on a recording medium, a suspension 4 for supporting the magnetic head, a tail part 10 which is a suspension extended part, wiring 9 formed on the suspension and the tail part, and an arm 5 to which the suspension is attached. Most of the wiring on the suspension and the tail part is covered with an insulating protective film and, in the partial section of the tail part, a thick structure 10a is formed on the plane of the tail part to increase the strength of the tail part. The thick structure includes a damping material. The projected part 5a of the arm 5 is disposed to guide the tail part in its longitudinal direction via the thick structure.

    • PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To realize a magnetic disc apparatus with high speed operation, high recording density and high reliability by a method wherein a slider can be turned easily around a shaft parallel with a disc surface, the strength of gimbals is improved and a sufficient bonding strength against a load is provided. SOLUTION: A metal layer 7 is provided on the side of a slider spacer 2 which faces the rear surface of a slider 1 in order to decompose peroxide compound catalyst contained in denatured acrylic system bonding agent 6 by the reductive reaction to activate the catalyst reaction. With this reaction, the slider 1 and the slider spacer 2 are bonded to each other with a sufficient strength by the radical polymerization of the reactive components. With this constitution, a magnetic head supporting mechanism in which the separation of the slider 1 and the breakage of gimbals 3 which are caused by a force in a direction parallel with a disc surface are hardly produced and which has the gimbals 3 with which the slider 1 can be turned around a rolling axis and a pitching axis easily can be obtained. Therefore, as the magnetic head supporting mechanism with which the displacement of the slider in a direction parallel with the disc surface is hardly produced and the slider can be turned easily and which is hardly broken by a load is provided, high speed operation and high speed positioning can be realized, a high recording density can be achieved and high reliability can be realized.

CONSTITUTION:Plural magnetic heads 91, 92 are arranged on the same straight line in the direction of up/down. The load arm 8 on whose outer peripheral side flanges 8c, 8d are formed. The load arm 8 is formed to asymmetry with respect to a plane so that a width of a right side part 8w of a main plate 8a is different from the width of the left side part 8n around the magnetic head 9 supported by the load arm. A pair of lower load arm 81 and upper load arm 81 are provided so that the width wide side parts 8w1, 8w2 and the width narrow side parts 8n1, 8n2 of mutual main plates 8a1, 8a2 are confronted with each other, and the positions of the flanges 8c1, 8d2 of the lower load arm 81 in the horizontal direction are shifted from the positions of the flanges 8c1, 8d2 of the upper load arm 82.
