摘要： A magnetic read/write head assembly (5) is mounted on the end of an arm (3) which allows vertical movement for the gliding head to follow disc surfaces, whilst maintaining fixed horizontal position and orientation. Mechanical vibrations in the support structure can cause variations in the gap between the head and the disc, thus disturbing the read/write process. Vibrations can be reduced by up to 20 dB by placing mobile solids (12) in a cavity (22) within the rigid support structure (7) on which the arm (3) is mounted. The solid masses may be replaced or complemented by powder or liquid, and alternative cavity designs are proposed. USE - - Disc drive read-write head dynamically damped mounting.

In this case, the terminal part is formed with an opening 11 by removing a part of the surface protective film 1a on the wiring pattern 4a so as to be connectible to FPC, and is designated such that a length h1 from the terminating end of the bend part of the starting end of the opening 11 is made longer than twice the thickness t at the bend part of the spring plate material 8 and made 0.1 mm or less.

摘要： PURPOSE: To eliminate the positional deviation of a head and to shorten the accessing time by providing a large recess for containing a fixed area of a slider spacer and a gimbal on the adhering surface of the spacer to the slider. CONSTITUTION: A slider 1 is fixed to a slider spacer 2, and fixed in a single fixed area smaller than the area in which the spacer 2 is in contact with a gimbal 3. The gimbal 3 is fixed to a load arm, and connected to a guide arm. Since the spacer 2 and the gimbal 3 are fixed in the small area, the warpage or twist of the slider spacer mount of the gimbal 3 is scarcely affected to the floating surface of the slider 1. Simultaneously, the warpage, twist of the slider 1 or the spacer 2 is scarcely affected to the mount of the spacer of the gimbal 3, thereby reducing the initial attitude irregularity of the gimbal 3. Thus, the accessing time can be shortened to obtain a magnetic apparatus having a high speed and a large capacity.

摘要： PURPOSE:To provide a magnetic head reduced in variance of the floating amount in respect to the floating magnetic head used for a magnetic disk device, etc., by further uniformizing the thickness of an adhesive to allow gimbals and a slider to adhere each other. CONSTITUTION:In the magnetic head consisting of the slider 21 and a reading/ writing element 22, a groove part 23 is formed on the surface of the slider 21 confronted with the gimbals 25. A curable resin 28 is interposed between the slider 21 and gimbals 25 as the adhesive, then the slider 21 and gimbals 25 are allowed to adhere by pressurizing to some extent. At this time, part of the hardenable resin 28 is accumulated in the groove part 23. That is, the thickness of the curable resin 28 between the slider 21 and gimbals 25 is uniformized by adjusting the pressurizing force between the slider 21 and gimbals 25.

摘要： PURPOSE:To stably float a head slider regardless of reception of an external force in directions other than the seek direction from a guide arm at the time of seek by reducing the response magnifications for tangential mode oscillation to tangential- direction excitation. CONSTITUTION:A head supporting device essentially consists of a head slider 1 and a supporting spring part 2. The attaching part of a guide arm 4 on the head supporting device is provided with a thin leaf spring part 5 which is rigid in the seek direction and the vertical direction but is flexible in the tangential direction. The rigidity in the tangential direction of the thin leaf spring part 5 is set to a proper value in accordance with the thickness, the width, and the length. An attenuating material 6 is inserted between a spacer 3 and the guide arm 4. When an external force is received in the tangential direction, the thin leaf flat spring part 5 in the attaching part of the guide arm 4 is bent in the tangential direction to distort the attenuating material 6. Oscillation of the head supporting device is reduced by breathing of deviation energy of the attenuating material 6. That is, the response magnifications in tangential mode oscillation to tangential-direction excitation can be reduced, and the head slider 1 is stably floated through an external force in directions other than the seek direction, especially, an external force in the tangential direction is received from the guide arm 4 at the time of seek.
