    • PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To slide a sliding bearing for a long period with no grease supply by impregnating lubricating oil having viscosity in a specified range into a bush made of porous iron sintering material. SOLUTION: When high viscosity lubricating oil having a viscosity with in 260 to 950cSt is impregnated in a porous bush 9 whose porosity is 5 to 30%, high viscosity lubricating oil 16 impregnated in a pore 14 of the porous bush 9 is appeared on the inner circumferential surface of the bush 9 so as to form a thin oil film 18. The oil film 18 becomes a sliding interface between the bush 9 and a bearing 10, and thereby, a lubricating effect is exhibited so as to obtain a good tribology characteristic. Since a fluidity of high viscosity lubricating oil impregnated in the pore 14 of the bush 9 is extremely low, it not flows out from the bush 9 even relative sliding motion of the bush 9 and the shaft 10 is repeated. As a result, feed of the lubricating oil film 18 is stably continued for a long period. It is thus possible to provide a no grease supply sliding bearing.

    • PURPOSE:To prolong the life of seal and reduce the accumulated quantity of dust and sediment by fitting a conical cover to a position right above the column of a shaft, in the non-contact state with other members but with its joined part to the shaft in the watertight state. CONSTITUTION:A conical cover 12 formed of metal or resin molding material is fitted to a shaft 5 to be joined together. A joined part 13 is formed to be watertight by means of close-fitting, closing/fixing a gap part with adhesive, or the like. The cover 12 larger in the outer diameter than a column 4 is fitted in the non-contact state with the column 4 and also with a dust seal 14 provided between the column 4 and the shaft 5. Dust A, rainwater, and the like fall or flow down along the upper inclined face of the cover 12, and the dust A falls further effectively since the cover 12 is rotated together with the shaft 5 by the operation of a steering wheel. As a result, the sliding contact part, with the shaft 5, of the lip 14a of the dust seal 14 is kept clean, and the life of seal can be prolonged.
