    • A system and a method for determining an absolute position of a motor shaft in an electric power steering system during an ignition off state are provided. The system includes a microprocessor that energizes first and second position sensors to generate first and second signals, respectively, at a first time, and third and fourth signals, respectively, at a second time. The microprocessor determines a first relative position value based on the first and second signals, and a second relative position value based on the third and fourth signals. The microprocessor determines an amount of relative rotation of the shaft during the ignition off state based on the first and second relative position values, and determines a current absolute position value based on a previously stored absolute position value and the amount of relative rotation of the rotatable shaft.

    • Methods and apparatus to operate an intermodal facility are disclosed. In the method described herein, a carrier enters into a contractual agreement with a separate intermodal facility owner to have exclusive use of the intermodal facility. Alternatively, a rail-to-truck and/or truck-to-rail intermodal facility owner may provide non-exclusive use to multiple railroads. Preferably, the carrier has no minimum use requirements associated with the intermodal facility. For example, the carrier is not required to transfer a certain number of containers in a certain period of time, and the carrier does not have to pay a periodic fee to the intermodal facility owner. Instead, the shipper associated with the carrier is charge by the intermodal facility owner based on the amount of intermodal facility use (e.g., on a per container basis). In one embodiment, a real estate developer is the intermodal facility owner. In addition, the real estate developer preferably builds a business park near the intermodal facility in order to capture the related business.

Generation of one or more free radicals in a cancer cell can occur by exposing the cancer cell to an effective amount of ionizing radiation, a free radical, a generator of a free radical, a ROS, a generator of a ROS, or a disruptor of mitochondrial membrane potential.

    • A system for verifying the accuracy of an image generated by a display processor and rendering engine is disclosed. The system includes a correlator circuit. The correlator circuit is operable to capture image data produced by a rendering engine from a set of input data and determine a correlation value calculated using a comparison location within the image data and a template. The correlator is further operable to compare the correlation value against a threshold value to determine a match between the comparison location within the image data and the template. The system further includes a checking processor coupled to the correlator circuit. The checking processor is operable to receive data representative of the correlation from the correlator and is further operable to initiate a warning in the event of any error in the data representative of the correlation.
