    • PURPOSE:To detect the strength of the ground on a surface basis and thereby to enable measurement of a detection value being fit for the actual situation, by providing a cylindrical strain-generating body fitted with a plurality of strain gages at equal intervals in the circumferential direction of a circumferential surface. CONSTITUTION:A plurality of strain gages 2 are fitted at equal intervals in the circumferential direction of the central part in the height direction of a strain-generating body 1 constituting a device. Ring-shaped flanges 3 and 3' fixed by bolts to the opposite ends of the strain-generating body 1 are provided and tubes 5 and 6 covering the surface and the back of the strain-generating body 1 are disposed between the flanges 3 and 3'. Forces acting on the flanges 3 and 3' are received only by the strain- generating body 1, while the tubes 5 and 6 are designed not to participate in transmission of the forces. In the case when the device is built in the middle of a tube 7 indicated by a chain line, bolt holes for connection are made in both of the flanges 3 and 3'. When the tube 7 is put into the ground, the strain-generating body 1 is strained in accordance with a penetration resistance being proportional to the strength of the ground acting on the flange 3' of the tube 7. By adding up an output of each strain gage 2 by an electric circuit, accordingly, the strength of the ground at a point of penetration of the tube 7 can be measured.

    • PURPOSE:To prevent the damage of a measuring instrument and to improve its performance by providing the upper part of a hollow casing to be interpenetrated in the ground with a light projection process section, a light reception process section and a processing section for detecting the height of a sand pile material face in the casing. CONSTITUTION:Light having specified wave length is projected from a light projection process section 6 provided on the upper part of a hollow casing 2, and reflected on a sand face S, and then received by a light reception process section 7. Signals issued from the light projection process section 6 and the light reception process section 7 are computed by a processing section 8 in relation to time for computing the height of a sand face in the casing 2. Next the quantity of discharged sand and of pressed in sand are computed, for instance, by utilizing the result of computation, and displayed by CRT, a recorder and a printer which cooperate with the computing section 8, and in the case where the above quantity is out of a designed value, an alarm is issued. Thus the damage of a measuring device caused by charging the sand can be prevented, and the height of the sand face can be detected quickly, precisely and with high accuracy.

    • PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To execute depth correction in real time by installing a mobile station GPS to a creation apparatus, specifying the mutual position between a GPS and a creation axis and pipe of the creation apparatus and measuring the coordinate position of the GPS, thereby eliminating an effort for tidal level correction. SOLUTION: A mobile station GPS7 is installed after selecting a place where there is no obstacle which may shield the satellite radio wave near the upper end of a creation apparatus 3 for a mobile station GPS7 or more desirably upward and the vicinity of the apparatus 3. Immediately before the work, the measured values (elevation or the like) of the positions x, y, z of the mobile station GPS7 are corrected and the accuracy is enhanced. Differences in height (elevation) at particular three places of the mobile station GPS7 are determined, and the degree of the slant to the vertical line of creation axis pipe 5 is measured from the variations of the height z, and drive depth from the bottom end of the creation axis and pipe 5 is measured. In this way, the depth of work can be measured directly, and also there is no room for entering of the disturbance such as changes in tidal level during work or changes in the height of ground surface to the depth indicator, depth correction is not required for recording the locus thereby improving the measuring accuracy.
