    • PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain an S rail with good rolling performance, where it is possible to more efficiently form its surface shape in a section, for no need for much cutting, and reduce the entire manufacturing cost from rolling to make an S rail to its processing into a tongue rail; and also to obtain a tongue rail made of this S rail that can be fastened from the inside of a main track, secure its independence from the main track rail and is good in resisting to tilting.
      SOLUTION: Concerning a material rail used for a tongue rail that is separably attached to a main track rail at its turnout, when the tongue rail is attached there, these two rails shall have an enough height difference between them to allow the provision of a tongue rail fastening means at a position between the bottom face of tongue rail and the upper face of main track rail and within the main track. Preferably, the tongue rail shall have an enough thick body width, and its head and body shall be bilaterally symmetrical in section, while its bottom may be either unsymmetrical or symmetrical in section.

    • PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To solve the following problem of a conventional joint that: if derailment occurs, wheels and their flanges directly strike joint plates by large forces, bolt heads, and nuts by large power, and therefore not only the joint plates are damaged but also the bolts and nuts are cut, resulting in the disengagement of the bolts and disconnection of the rails from a joint portion, whereby the rails are lifted up to collide with a vehicle body.
      SOLUTION: There is provided an adhesive insulated joint according to which the joint plates 3 are fitted into both surfaces 12, 12 of a web of the rail via insulated adhesives 4, respectively, and fastened to the rail 1 with a bolt 6. The externally facing surface 31 of each joint plate 3 is formed in the vicinity of a virtual line L2 hung from the edge of the maximum width L1 of a rail head 11. Then bolt penetration holes 30, 30 and 10 are formed in both the joint plates 3 and the rail 1, and a recess 32 is formed in one of the joint plates 3 while a female screw 33 is screwed in the bolt penetration hole 30 in the other joint plate 3. Further the bolt 6 is inserted into the bolt penetration holes 30, 30 and 10, and the shaft edge 60 of the bolt 6 is tightly fastened to the female screw 33. Furthermore a shaft tip is finished so as to stay in the joint plate 3, and the bolt head 61 is sunk in the recess 32.

      SOLUTION: In operation of the track component member moving device, an adsorbing portion 16a is set on an upper surface of a switch guard 11 and adsorbs the same. After the adsorbing portion 16a is hooked by a hook portion 16d, a fastening member 13 is removed from the switch guard by the worker, and a hand chain 16f of a wind-up portion 16b is operated for rotation by the worker, whereby the switch guard 11 is lifted up to a predetermined height by a lifting portion 16. When the lifting portion 16 having the switch guard 11 kept lifted by the same, is slid along a guide portion 17 by the worker, a wheel 16h of the lifting portion 16 is rotatingly moved on a lower flange portion 17b of the guide portion 17. As a result, the switch guard 11 is removed to an area outside a work region of the worker, where maintenance inspection of a turnout 1 is carried out, and therefore the switch guard 11 is temporarily retreated from the turnout 1.

      SOLUTION: A mounting portion 12b of the switch guard 12 has a flat surface 12i which is to be mounted on the mounting member 13, and a mounting portion 13a of the mounting member 13 has a convex surface 13d for mounting the flat surface 12i thereon. Therefore unlike a conventional switch guard, bending work is dispensed with, and the mounting position of the switch guard 12 can be easily changed. Further an adjusting washer 17 having a fastening bolt 15 attached thereto, can be inserted and mounted on the fastening bolt 15, and therefore the flangeway width W can be easily adjusted to a specified value. Furthermore, spherical surface portions 13c, 18a make contact with each other, and therefore even if the position of the switch guard 12 is changed, an eccentric load applied to the fastening bolt 15 can be reduced.

An indicator portion 15c functions to check a rotational position at which the bolt head 15a is hooked on the hook portion 12e, and is formed of a linear groove for checking a mounting direction. Further, fastening nuts 16a, 16b are mounted on a male screw portion 15b, functions to fasten the switch guard 12 to the mounting member 13, and has a detent function imparted thereto.
