    • PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a highly reliable ceramic heater which hardly causes a retraction phenomenon of a heating element even if the ceramic heater is exposed to a cold environment.SOLUTION: A ceramic heater 1 comprises: a pair of electrodes 111 and 121; a ceramic heating element 10 which is connected to the electrode 111 and 121 and generates heat by a current supplied by an external conductive device; a housing 30 which is fitted on an outer periphery of the ceramic heating element 10 and is provided for fixedly mounting a heating part located at the distal end of the ceramic heating element 10 onto the inner side of a mounting member 60; and bonding means which bonds the housing 30 and the ceramic heating element 10. First bonding means 23 is arranged in a portion exposed to a cold environment, which is located at the distal end of the housing 30, and second bonding means 20 is arranged in a portion away from the cold environment, which is located at the proximal end of the housing.

The entire or part of the heating element mounting means bonded to the ceramic heating element 10 via the braze-bonded part 20 is formed of a heat-resistant low-heat expansion metal material having a thermal expansion coefficient of 8.5×10/°C (up to 100°C) or lower.

      SOLUTION: A sheath tube 202 is inserted into a housing 201, which is connected to an engine head 1 by bolts, for fixation and to be exposed on a combustion chamber 1a side, and a heating coil 203 for heating by electrifying is provided in the sheath tube 202. The core shaft 204 is housed in the housing 201 so that one end thereof is electrically continued to the heating coil 203 and that the other end thereof is projected from the other end of the housing 201. The other end of the housing 201 is provided with a pressure sensor 300 for detecting the combustion pressure by detecting the force working to the sheath tube 202 with the generation of the combustion pressure and transmitted through the core shaft 204. A vibration damping material 230 for restricting the vibration of the core shaft 204 is provided in the periphery of a part of the core shaft 204 between a fixation part 204m thereof to the sheath tube 202 and a fixation part 204n thereof to the housing 201.
